I coulda stopped at the tasty Old Fashioned and been happy, happy, happy. This place is old-school fun. On the pricey side, but sometimes it feels good knowing your dollars are going to a local joint that employs local folk and supports the local economy. Clam chowder was excellent; ribeye was good, though not great.

Service attentive and helpful without being obtrusive ~ always a plus. We were there near closing time but never felt rushed or like the staff was giving us the evil eye. Could tell the other patrons were longtime regulars ... that counts for a lot these days!

For ten years, I have visited the hideaway located off the Hollywood Way exit by the 5 freeway and have never had a bad experience or meal. The steaks, fish and chicken are all excellent. The burger goes beyond that; it's exquisite. The freshest meat is always used and char broiled to absolute perfection. The scallops are also the very best I've ever tasted.

Gary's staff are courteous, professional and the down home feeling is something you don't often get in restaurants today. I will continue to be a regular here and if you want to have a great meal and are in the area, run don't walk.

A friend took me here while I was visiting from NH. When he pulled into the parking lot he said " Oh I bet this place has some great stories.." It certainly does. The food was great the waitstaff friendly and the portions were good! It's an older style place with very comfy seating. I found out from another friend that it's the favorite place of actress Rose Marie.

This has been the best surf 'n' turf for a long time. The meat has been exceptionally good and I can tell because I ordered it rare and you can only do that if meat and chef are excellent. The lobster was done to to perfection. I was glad I did not have any sides.

Beyond expect great Long drinks and attentive service.

For all Germans: never judge a book by its cover!

This place was recommended by the Hampton Inn. It is a steak/seafood house and is very good. The prices were EXCELLENT. The steak was cooked to order and the wine prices were very reasonable. Bottles of wine between $24 and $60. The variety was fair and for the price you can't beat it. The clam chowder was homemade, excellent. The owner was tending bar and the atmosphere had an old school charm. It is small inside but it was relaxing and had a real charm. Outside is nothing to look at, simply a hole-in-the-wall. However, the food, service and drinks were all good. I'll visit again when I'm in town.
