This is the one that made California wine famous. They make some awesome wines, some good wines and a few so so wines but you have to go just for the history of it all. The main winery building as you approach from the lower parking lots is just what you see on the lable, impressive and old. The main tasting room screams 1970s redwood and can get cramped if its a bit crowded. The grounds and lake are worth taking a few minutes to walk around for some unique pictures that could fool someone into thinking you were visting Asia. Although it is pretty far north for many Napa tour itineraries it is a fun stop if you can fit it in.
