“Go for the history!”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

This is the one that made California wine famous. They make some awesome wines, some good wines and a few so so wines but you have to go just for the history of it all. The main winery building as you approach from the lower parking lots is just what you see on the lable, impressive and old. The main tasting room screams 1970s redwood and can get cramped if its a bit crowded. The grounds and lake are worth taking a few minutes to walk around for some unique pictures that could fool someone into thinking you were visting Asia. Although it is pretty far north for many Napa tour itineraries it is a fun stop if you can fit it in.

“Beautiful buildings, gardens and lake. Not to be missed.”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

Beautiful building, garden and lake. The winery was winner of the Paris blind tasting which put California wines on the world stage. Great wine tasting.

“Bottle Shock!!”
Reviewed 27 January 2012

My favorite winery! The movie is a classic and I enjoy visiting the beautiful winery when I get to Napa. The Chardonnay is spectacular and I always leave with a few bottles!

“Nice Gardens, Pretty Winery”
Reviewed 27 January 2012

The winery has some beautiful grounds and makes for many photo ops. There is a lot of history about Napa here, too, with the story retold in the movie "Bottle Shock" about the first Napa wines to win a wine competition in 1976 and kick start the popularity and awareness of California wines. Very impressive place.

“Bottle Shock tour was definetely worth the money”
Reviewed 11 January 2012

The Bottle Shock tour was an average tour that took you to very few places in the facility and really didn't provide too much information about the winery and history. The only reason I say the tour was totally worth it is because at the end they give you a half bottle of chardonnay and a signed copy of Bottle Shock! Totally worth the 25 dollars in itself!
