We enjoyed our visit to the Blue Dolphin Inn. The rooms are lovely and it is right across the street from Moonstone Beach that has a beautiful walking path. They bring breakfast to your room each morning and there is always coffee available. The views are stunning. We rode our bikes to Hearst Castle and back on Rt 1 and there was little traffic to worry about. The town of Cambria is also lovely and laid back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view. There is no air conditioning and you don't need it. An open window a...

Really nice inn. Our room was standard and it was spacious, although the bed was a little small and we didn't have a view. The location is perfect, right on the beach and having fresh coffee in the morning was a good touch. 15 mins north is the elephant seal beach, well worth a visit.

Room Tip: If staying for more than one night, it is worth upgrading to a view and suite

We stayed in the Saldana, on the second floor with an ocean view. The decor was soothing with muted colors, which blended perfectly with the view. The room was perfect, but we had a few issues with housekeeping. After checking into our room, we noticed a net bag hanging by the door. Upon further inspection, we discovered someone's dirty clothing. We dismissed this as an oversight, and the front desk apologized. We were out most of the next day, returning around 9PM to find that housekeeping had not cleaned our room! Once again the receptionist apologized, took the trash, brought us refills of coffee and said she would report it to the management. At checkout the next day, she explained she did not have time to report these issues. Although she was courteous and brought us some chocolates, this is not acceptable when I paid over $500 for two nights. Hopefully, this is not their normal standard.

Room Tip: Saldana room had a fabulous ocean view and calming design

Dear Kat312,

Thank you for your recent stay at Dolphin Bay. We are pleased that you enjoyed the room decor and view, but are so sorry for the housekeeping breakdowns that you experienced. We do appreciate that you would take the time to share this with management and you can be sure that steps have been taken to ensure this remains an exception and not the rule. We look forward to welcoming you both back at your earliest opportunity so we may give you the escape that you expected and deserved.

Kind Regards,

I love Cambria and have been there many times. This was one of my best trips there, thanks to the Blue Dolphin! We had an oceanfront room and could hear the wonderful sounds of the ocean. I would have been happy sitting by the window all day. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The soaking tub was a bug plus! Breakfast served to your room and fresh cookies hanging on your door in the afternoon...they really make you feel welcome. Lots of little touches that add so much! It was the most relaxing experience I have had in a long time. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Stay in one of the oceanfront rooms, they are worth it

Stayed for three nights over a weekend in the middle of our road trip from San diego to San Francisco.

The deluxe king side room was so comfortable, and quiet, and with the sounds of waves crashing (occasionally drowned out by cars from CA1) it was heavenly. We could even see the waves crashing onto the beach from out little seating area in our room, which was lovely.

The whole picnic breakfast options and Savory breakfast pastries were really good, and really filling. Great value included in the room price.

Cambria village is a lovely place to visit although beware thatnitsnnit easy to eat for les than $20 an entree. Also recommend if you are traveling north on CA 1, to fill up your gas in cambria where gas prices are more than$1 a gallon less than up the coast!

Enjoy!

Everything about this hotel is great! We got a standard room. It was a great size and very comfortable. The hotel's location is perfect. The ocean right across the street is beautiful. You can walk along the boardwalk and enjoy the ocean. We were able to walk from the hotel to town and we even walked into the second part of town. You order your breakfast the day before and it is delivered to your room in to-go containers. My husband ordered the salmon bagel and I got the ham and cheese in french pastry. I liked his better, mine was a little too heavy. We also enjoyed the fruit, scone (the best), blueberry muffin, and orange juice. We will definitely stay here again!
