Lovely spot. Fantastic view. If I went here again I would not pay extra for the ocean view with patio. Patio wasn't private- for that price I thought it was. You shared it with 2 other rooms. You can stay in any room and take advantage of the side patio/or the table setting at the front which was closer to the beach than our expensive patio. Both have spectacular views of the ocean without the extra cost. Things to note. Despite what the pictures show this is not on the beach. It is across the street from the beach. There are no accommodations on the beach because the beach is below off a short cliff. The famous boardwalk is right across the street and you can walk all it for about a mile with beautiful views. Also, if you are a tea drinker bring your own. They have no tea other than green tea. Only one restaurant to walk too. You can order delivery from the town if you don't walk to walk down a highway in the dark and/don't want to drink and drive. Nice breakfast included that is delivered to your room ready to go. You have several items to choose from. For those of you with electric cars there's a charger here.

We fly from the east coast every year to escape to the coast of Cambria and it is just a heavenly piece of this world where the mountains meet the sea.... we have enjoyed many accommodations but the Blue Dolphin Inn is really just a special place for our family.
Chilly evenings and warm days are welcomed by a room with a cozy fireplace. The picnic porch breakfast is a great way to start your day, walk to the boardwalk, watch the sunsets, or stay in an and enjoy the sunset with the breaking of the waves.
We took a day trips to Paso Robles and Hearst Castle. Just divine.

Thank you so much for all of the times you have made Blue Dolphin your home away from home. I am so glad you and your family have found a special place in our property. Also thank you for the wonderful review. You should be a travel writer! :) I am so glad you were able to take time to visit our neighboring Paso Robles and San Simeon. We hope to see you again in 2018.

We picked the Blue Dolphin Inn because of it's proximity to Hearst Castle. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room. We walked along the road for dinner with the sound of the waves across the road. The Inn is right on the beach front with lovely views of the ocean. Breakfast was served as a packed meal and was delicious. The food was chosen the night before and delivered to your room for when it was ordered. A shame we could not spend longer there but we were driving between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

My husband and I with our senior dog in tow, stayed an evening here while visiting the Paso Robles wine country.

It was such a lovely place, being greeted and sat down to check in. We chose what we wanted for breakfast right then and it was delivered in a “picnic” type way so you could sit outside...

They were so kind to our pooch, having food bowls and treats and we had a room right by the door to take her out.

My only CON was not staying here for our second night!!!!! Definitely will come back...it’s such a beautiful landscape similar to the Oregon rocky coast.
