I loved the Blue Dolphin Inn! From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed. The entire property was impeccably clean. We stayed in the Aegean Sea room, which included a semi-private patio to watch the sunset. The bathroom was modern, with a separate jet-tub and shower stall. The front desk staff was helpful with dining recommendations and we both loved the two restaurants that were suggested. If I'm in the area again, or if I know of people traveling there I would definitely recommend a stay at the Blue Dolphin.

We stayed for two nights at the Blue Dolphin Inn to celebrate my 50th birthday. You could not ask for a more perfect location, practically on the water in Cambria. Our room- The Sea of Japan- was smack dab in the center of the best view in Cambria. The sunsets were phenomenal! The breakfast was delicious, delivered to our door every morning. Cookies left every evening. The bed was so comfortable- one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. We will be back!"

Just returned from a fabulous three night stay at the Blue Dolphin Inn. We had one of the rooms at the front of the hotel with a full ocean view and front patio. The recently remodeled room rivals that of many five star hotels including the Ritz Carlton and Montage in Laguna. Rates may be considered expensive compared to other area hotels but you get what you pay for and it is considerably less expensive than ocean front rooms at the previously mentioned resorts.

Friendly and conscientious staff, very satisfying "free" breakfast delivered to your door, gas fireplace to take the chill out of the air.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough--we will be back!

We generally stay at two hotels in Cambria Moonstone Landing or Little Sur Inn. We booked as usual but due to a mistake there was no reservation and we were referred to the Blue Dolphin Inn. It was a newer hotel with everything nicely updated. Loved the LCD TV and pod coffee maker two of my favorite attributes. Signed the travel log in my room and it was interesting to read about the past guest. Definitely upscale and adult oriented as I believe there is no children allowed. Would stay there again if I got a good deal, it is pricey.

Blue dolphin inn is a adorable surprise in Cambria. Along Moonstone beach, just across the street from the boardwalk, you couldn't ask for a better location. The rooms were so clean, with comfortable beds and bath. Really nice. Cookies awaited us at the bar counter in the room, along with a handy kreuger for morning coffee. I loved this place. Definitely would stay here again, and really wish we'd had a chance for an extra day!

In the morning got up and ran up and down boardwalk which is as stated, just across the little road and the views were gorgeous. Got to see seals and dolphins, from the boardwalk! Breakfast was delivered in a picnic style way and was very good. Like I said, wish I could have stayed an extra night :)

We discovered The Blue Dolphin thru Trip advisor and it lived up to its positive reviews. Almost a combination of a charming inn and a mini luxury hotel it is located with many similar properties on a spit of land overlooking spectacular shoreline. it was the perfect spot to stop on our drive from LA to SF. The staff were so hospitable they made you feel like you were staying at thier home and maybe we were! On the phone they recommended room 210 which had ocean views at non view rates and it was perfect. We celebrated an anniversary dinner at Madelines in town and again it was delightful as Trip Advisor members had said. Walking along the "boardwalk" inthe morning was another big plus. Great location, very cozy and very reasonable. and that breakfast was wonderful too.

My wife and I stayed one night at the Blue Dolphin Inn (in the Anaho Bay room #214) and didn't want to leave. The epitome of a romantic, relaxing atmosphere, we slept with the windows open all night to hear the sound of crashing waves, while the fireplace kept the room at a comfortable temperature with it's warming glow. Like some of the other reviewers, I'm partial to a real fireplace (with the sounds and smells), but these suedo, carefree fireplaces seem to fit better with the accompanying luxury accommodations. Waking up to complimentary breakfast (fresh and made specific to our order the night before) delivered to our room, was the cherry on top. The room and facilities were top notch all the way around. I'd imagine much of the traveler's experience will depend on room location (ours was hard to beat - top floor full ocean view in the front of the property), but with a clever and welcoming option of being able to see all other rooms, (visitors were free to walk into any unoccupied room) I can tell you that ocean view aside, all rooms met our exceptionally high standard for comfort and attractiveness. You could tell that the operators of this establishment took notes about what to do and what not to do in designing a boutique inn that disguises itself as a bed and breakfast, or maybe they designed a bed and breakfast that disguises itself as a boutique inn. Either way, throw out all of your misconceptions about what a B&B should be. No country decor here. No stuffy, cramped quarters, no creaky bed or charming furniture. We were just blown away about the attention to detail, from the plantation shutters, to the high-end furniture, to the Kuerig coffee maker, to the luxury linens/towels/robes to the bath essentials. Even the bath mat was a nice surprise. Not many places actually end up looking better than the pictures on the website, but this one did! Reading through the room's guestbook, you could tell that everyone who stayed here before us felt the same. The true stamp of approval is that most of these guests were celebrating a momumental event whether it be a honeymoon or anniversary. All vowed to come back again. We will too.
