“Great Getaway Spot”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

Cambria Pines Lodge was recommended to us by a close friend, I have to admit it's a great getaway spot for a few days of relaxation. The grounds are very nice and that's even in the rain. Great location close to the village. We had an upstairs unit in an older building but it was very comfortable.

We will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: If it's just two people then I'd recommend one of the small cabins. They are newer.

My wife and I have been coming to Cambria for vacations for over 20 years. But we have never stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge. Until now. We thoroughly enjoyed every facet of our stay! The room was very nice with a little patio with a view. The gardens and grounds of the Lodge were meticulously maintained with lovely flowers growing everywhere. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent... and perfectly prepared. All of the help, from the front desk to the waiters were very kind and accommodating. We look forward to staying at the Cambria Pines Lodge again soon.

Room Tip: We chose a room with a small patio that faces the forest. Very nice.

The town of Cambria was a wonderful place to visit and Cambria Pines lodge was the epitome of the whole experience. Everyone was so helpful -- from the check-in desk to the waitresses and support staff, we felt like royalty. The meals in the restaurant were top notch with the included breakfast the nicest we have ever had with a hotel stay. The gardens on the grounds are well kept and such a pleasant walk from our room to the restaurant, lounge and front desk! The nightly entertainment was also a big plus since we could just relax for a couple of hours before snuggling into our comfortable bed in our perfect room!

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we took this weekend trip to go wine tasting in Paso Robles. The property was so peaceful and beautiful, comprised of many small well designed craftsman-style "condos" at the top of a hill in a quiet residential neighborhood. There is a more retreat-type feeling to it...so much better than staying in a standard hotel! There is a great walking trail around the perimeter (we saw a family of deer!) with many flower gardens and their own organic garden that their restaurant uses. Super clean room with great quality linens and hot fireplace! We highly recommend this gem!

We stayed here in April 2011 while driving down PCH, Highway 1. We visited Hearst Castle nearby and stayed here. The rooms are individual chalets with an outside seating area, gas fire and REALLY comfortable bed.
Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booed in the evening we stayed, so ordered room service in-house pizza. Massive, and too much for the 2 of us !
Well recommended, and don't forget to enjoy walking around the very well kept gardens and the adjacent garden centre - and hope Smokey the cat is still there !

We drove north from Shell Beach to stay here for my husbands 50th birthday.

We had a package that included dinner, a bottle of wine and breakfast. Our room was very nice, dinner was excellent. My husband had prime rib and I had scallops. We each ordered salads, and for dessert, the brownie sundae. It was such a lovely place to have a nice leisurely meal. We sat at a window where we enjoyed watching families walk through the gardens.

Nick at the front desk was very nice and helpful.

The grounds are amazing. It was so relaxing walking through the gardens. The iceland poppies were gorgeous and it was fun to find cute little areas with benches and fountains along the path. Easy to imagine little fairies prancing about.......

We walked-no hiked-down the hill into town to walk around before dinner. The next morning we hiked one of the many trails on the Santa Rosa Creek trail system. Absolutely beautiful. We were there at 7 am and had the place to ourselves.Lovely. After our hike we enjoyed the nice hot breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice, muffins and potoates.

Highly recommended.

We had a deluxe suite which was really roomy! Loved the private patio. One of the things we noticed most is that it is so quiet! Since the rooms are seperate, we didn't hear the usual hotel noises like water running in other rooms or doors slamming, It was very, very quiet and relaxing. The room was very clean. Our only complaint is that the televisions are pretty outdated and small. Daytimes there is a lot to do at the beach but in the evening it's pretty common to be in the room after dinner so a better tv would have been ideal. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay. It's a bit of a drive to the beach (10 minutes) but on the plus side it's nice and sunny at the hotel even when the beach is still overcast.

Room Tip: They might be a little noisier, but the rooms adjoining the garden would be really pretty, We will...
