Nice little hotel away from the main tourist spot. We had connecting deluxe rooms which were kept clean and had good air con, Tv, fridge and tea coffee making facilities. Beds a little hard but ok. Local area had lots of cheap thai food places (very good), a 7-11 and small market stalls. Very close to pier where longtails boats available. Tuk Tuks into town were 50baht per person or the local bus for only 20 baht. Very easy to get around should you need to. Breakfast was good with 5 different options. Only ate in restaurant once and not that impressed when there are so many other good options around. Staff there helped us organise private tours which were reasonably priced and also arranged our transport from Krabi airport and then onto Koh Lanta. Pool and gardens were well maintained and quiet. Would go back again although husband found it a little too quiet, kids and I loved that though!

Room Tip: We had deluxe rooms which were well appointed and good value.

A very nice super friendly place to chill with a great pool and friendly staff. It is a little out of the way, but if you are after something away from the hussle this is a good place. There are some GREAT local places to eat nearby, that are very well priced (cheap but the best food I have eaten in Thailand... Seriously. GO TO JAPOI, out of thip residence turn right about 500m on right. All menus and signage are in Thai, and the food is epic...! And staff are super happy).

This was a really fun part of our trip with some easy boat rides organised by those at thip.

The Thip résidence hôtel is clean and very quiet. The staff is frendly but don't speak so good english.
The swimming pool is really nice.

The most annoying things is thé location of thé hôtel. It is too far from AoNang and you absolutely need to rent à motorbike (~ 10 minutes to go to AoNang with the motorbike). There is nothing to do around the hotel, no shops, no restaurant...

For this reason I won't concil this Hotel to friends.

Have just spent five nights at the Thip Residence, a complete pleasure and a delightful experience, from arrival to departure.

A warm greeting on arrival, being met at the kerbside was very welcoming indeed and a swift checking in process ensured I was installed in my garden view room on the second floor within a matter of minutes (and surrounded by excellent, much needed, aircon and a ceiling fan). The room was huge, light and airy thanks to full length and almost full width patio windows, and equipped with a decent flyscreen. I have to say that this was the F1 of flyscreens, no mosquito even bothered to try it!

I had the pristine pool to myself all week between 8-9am which was wonderful. The perfume of jasmine at the poolside and the lush greenery in the well maintained garden made it a dream. Ju was out every morning tending and watering the plants, it is a well loved garden, and it shows.

Breakfast was great for setting up the day, with an early start for early birds and a more relaxed end at 10:30 for those who appreciate their lay in (or who've been thrashing the pool!). Everything from a light and fresh continental to a full English was available, and the catering staff were all too willing to ensure guests needs were satisfied.

I had my evening meal at the hotel on three nights, each was fresh, nutritious and wickedly tasty. The menu kindly directs those non-familiar with Thai cuisine to the house specialities with remarks like 'recommended' and 'yummy yummy', so if you're a novice take the hint, and try these. As a lover of Thai food (part of the reason for choosing Thip in the first place) I was always impressed.

I hired a scooter directly from he hotel for a few days, a complete snip at 200 Baht per day with a full tank costing 150 Bhat it was an economical means of getting to (and more particularly, away from) local Ao Nang and Krabi Town. I wouldn't have made some exciting more distant discoveries without the scooter however, and it wasn't difficult to clock up some mileage on the well sealed roads. Thip supply helmets for the safety of guests using scooters. Word of advice: DO put the helmet on your head. I saw a nasty accident which would have been far less nasty if the chap had done this. He probably looked cooler without it beforehand, but won't look cool going home with those lasting momentoes of his visit.

The Ao Nam Mao pier is less than five minutes walk away. From where you can get direct longtails to neighbouring

Yu is a delightful host, her team of accomodating staff deserve special praise for their kindness and attention to guests needs. Big thanks to On for solving my little problems with: the room safe, helping me find the key that switches the language from Thai to English on the PC keyboard (doh) and changing some large notes for me. If every hotel had an On, Trip Advisor would have far fewer negative reports.

If you're looking for a thumping nightlife on the doorstep, forget it, look elsewhere. If you're seeking a calm oasis with Koi in the pond, charming staff, tastebud tantalizing Thai cuisine, clean airy rooms and well appointed en suites...you've found it.

Would I recommend? Wholeheartedly and without reservation, yes.
