We were in room 46. King bed and a great room about 500sq feet. We had a living area, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. The bathroom was a little cramped. The hotel is 3 small blocks from the main strip. Carmel is a great place to visit. We had a vary nice time. The b&b offers a continental breakfast. The b&b has about 20 rooms and each one is a different. Our room looked like a cabin will wood walls and ceilings.

Carmel is lovely and we enjoyed our stay. However the Briarwood is stuck in a time warp. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage style room which suited us as a family of four but that’s about the only plus (along with a central location to be fair).

This place is quaint at best but pretty shabby in reality. Old, tatty decor, not particularly clean (blankets on the beds yuck) ancient fixtures and fittings. My sons allergies were awful - a tell tale sign things ain’t too good in the cleaning dept! Actually you can cope with all that if the price is reasonable but it didn’t feel good value for money.

What was the most dissappointing was the lack lustre “welcome” on check in - felt like a commodity not a guest - and the really hilarious breakfast! Seriously how they can promote themselves as a B&B ....unless it stands for bagels and boiled eggs because that is all you get! Grim!

I am sure there are many better options in the town - we won’t be back.

Carmel has lots of options for B&B, but we decided on trying Briarwood inn. They didn’t have many rooms left, because we booked very last minute but we got the cutest little cottage and spent one night here.
It is nice, clean and cozy. Has a small kitchen and living room. Our cottage had two bedrooms of decent size.
Briarwood is a charming and nice option in Carmel.

I decided to stay on an extra night and had to change hotels due to availability and was lucky to find a dog-friendly room available at the Briarwood inn. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, welcoming and helpful.

I stayed in Room 3, Sommerset, and loved it! I would definitely stay in the room again as the room was large and was more than enough space for myself and two large dog crates.

One of the big pluses about the inn is that the room came with own private carport, a bonus in Carmel, especially during the busy tourist season.

The room was away from the street, and next to the laundry area. There was a room above, and another across the way, but noise was minimal. Be aware that the room features venetian blinds, so if you're bothered by light, you might wake up on the early side in the morning. Also, the bathroom sink is in the main room, and not the bathroom and it's a small, tight space. That being said, the room also featured a small fireplace, mini wet-bar and a microwave.

The bed and bedding were incredibly luxurious and comfortable and I had a fantastic night sleep. I would highly recommend staying at the Briarwood inn.

We drove down from Moss Beach for one night to celebrate a birthday and set up a good starting point for a drive to Big Sur the next day. The cottage was quaint and comfortable with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a well equipped galley kitchen. The family room or common space had comfortable seating around a gas fireplace. It was clean, quiet and an easy walk to everywhere we wished to go. It was a great choice for 2 couples and a single. We stayed in 102 and were very close to the office with the breakfast buffet.
