“Beautiful location, a Greek idyll”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Elektra. Our host, Vartholomeos lives upstairs with his wife and was very helpful and hospitable. The apartment was well furnished though the kitchen equipment was a little limited. The property benefits from a beautifully shady garden, regularly maintained by Vartholomeos. The tiny beach, immediately below the property, is shared with the Diplomats Apartments, which are located close by. However their guests have their own pool and we rarely saw anyone on the beach or swimming. On the other side of the property, some 3/4 minute walk is the Leda Hotel complex. Again whilst the hotel was fully occupied, we were largely unaware of their presence and benefited from their facilities including wind surfer hire and bar. The picturesque village of Chorto is a delightful 10 minute walk and has several seaside tavernas and bars. If you are seeking solitude the apartment may not suit - both the sea and the proximity of our host meant there was always some noise.

“beach”
Reviewed 16 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Our host was there to meet us and was charming and helpful. He and his wife live above but are very discreet.
The apartment is set in a small but beautiful garden, with the sea and pebbly beach at its foot. The bedroom is a good size; the kitchen is adequately equipped. Although the sitting room has a couple of sofas, I think the place is too small for the 5 people it claims to accommodate...but it was nice to have two proper bathrooms.
It's a 10-minute walk to Horto, the nearest village with mini-market and tavernas (all shut except for one at this tail-end of the season), but the Casablanca, a bar which serves excellent light meals, is just a few minutes away.
On the downside: the access road is difficult to find and to negotiate...a big car won't get round the corner! The outdoor lighting is temperamental, and the garden is a little overshadowed by trees and foliage, although this is probably welcome in high summer..
All in all, we loved our stay and hope to go again.
