We were very impressed. The staff were very nice and super helpful. We are from the East Coast and you always hear how nice West Coast people are. Well, it is true at this hotel at least ;)
They have a full Starbucks on site which is also very awesome. We love the layout for dining and our son loves being able to watch cartoons on our private TV at our table.

One of the things about a Marriott property and is they are all uniformly good. What distinguishes one from another is its location and the quality of the work staff. But the physical plant, in my experience, has always been good. I'm a Marriott Rewards member and was able to book my room at a very good price. On top of that, I was upgraded because of my frequent stay status. The result was a very roomy and comfortable suite. The lobby has been redone in the Marriott Bistro theme that tries to encourage customers to spend more time in the lobby area reading newspapers, magazines, or watching individual television screens. A big plus of this location is the several Asian restaurants and businesses located at the opposite end of the driveway from the hotel. Then across the street from the hotel is the site of the new huge Apple Complex that was being completed during our stay. We were so busy with things in the area that I didn't check out the pool and exercise area. But, it is safe to say that they probably meet Marriott's usual high standards.

It is a standard Courtyard, but it is in a quiet residential neighborhood and has a nice pool. Standard rooms and amenities. Free Internet, and OK gym. The only disappointment is the Bistro restaurant has a very limited menu and hours. I went to the Hilton next door which has a better menu.

I still can't believe I had to shell out $399 for a single (Tuesday) night for this. It's one of the "standard" Courtyards, where you have to pay extra for your "standard" yoghurt and "standard" Starbucks at the breakfast bar (and evening bar). My room was on the first/ground floor, with a random's car parked straight in front of it. It just didn't feel private nor safe! However, one guest found it convenient to go straight from car to the hotel room.
Also, you can hear the nearby freeway at night (the hotel is placed right next to it).
The hotel has a pool and a gym. The gym was ok.
The rooms don't even have a kettle so you can't make the ramen noodles you can buy at the "market" stall they have near the entrance.
The hotel would be fine for half the price.

Room tip: ask for a room not on the ground floor if you want privacy.

CupertinoCY, General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Cupertino, responded to this reviewResponded September 3, 2016

Dear Eric S,

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the price you paid for your Courtyard accommodations. The Bay Area in general and specifically the Cupertino area can be very pricey mid-week. The product and services the hotel provides are standard for a Courtyard branded property and our Front Desk and Bistro staff are happy to help with any requests such as hot water or other items necessary to prepare a meal on the go.
Safety and security are a top priority for our team. The hotel offers key entry at external entrances and 24 hour staffing. It is important to us that our guests feel secure during their stay.
Our team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and pleasant experience for our guests. I hope we will be able to serve you again in the future. Your feedback is appreciated.

Ok! We stay in a lot ...I mean A LOT of Marriotts, all across this great country! The team members at this place are top rate! Kind, friendly, helpful & just plan nice to be around. The room, building & grounds are all well maintained, but it's the staff that makes this place special-from the from desk to housekeeping to food service to maintenance- these people were incredible!
