I stayed for two nights at this very surprising hotel
set in a former timber merchants head quarters building.
it is well laid out, open ,bright and has some interesting photo's and artefacts from its former timber river days
the place was well priced , very clean , the hotel in general and my room
the bed was very comfortable.
it is in the proposed process of a make over , so admittedly some parts can seem a little old or worn
this should not be a factor though in deciding weather to stay or not , as the staff were friendly and very helpful (Ellen)
the breakfast is decent enough , with enough choice and laid out fresh produce to appeal to most people
plenty of parking , and as this is a conference setting to ,it can go from fairly quiet to busy pretty swiftly
you do not really notice this as it is a big building and noise is not to really heard!
as it was a quiet time I was staying here , even bagged myself a private guided tour of the little history museum all about the area and timber life on the water ways!
Ellen was the one that showed me around
absolutely fantastic ,as I love to learn about where I am staying and the history
Worth a stay and I would stay again

Stayed: November 2017
Thank Dave B

This is the nearest hotel to the ferry port. The ferry terminal for Vaasa is a mile or so away.
The rooms are OK but need updating. There is free tea and coffee in the basement. The hotel does not do an evening meal and there isn't anywhere near to eat. You have to travel the 5 miles or so back into Umea. However the hotel will let you make your own sandwich for free.
This is not luxury but comfortable enough. A good price for Sweden and the closest hotel to the ferry port.
