“Hidden Surprise”

What a great surprise! We used the dart board method to select a place for an intimate rendezvous and we were ecstatic about El Morocco. The courtyard is beautiful and the staff was great! We had a wonderful stay and would return alone or with a group.

This was the second trip I've made to the El Morrocco, which is an intimate, relaxing re-vamped motel designed to pamper guests. As the Inn is quite small, it's intimate enough for people who want privacy yet it also allows guests to get to know each other if they wish, and seems to attract quieter folks looking for good conversation. The happy hour is particularly excellent for getting to to know your neighbours, but, if complete privacy is what you want, you can have that too. The staff is superb at taking care of all your needs. The ambiance is lovely - flowing curtains, tea and coffee and treats avaiable 24 hours a day, and the two hot pools are completely relaxing and lovely. Being an early bird, I spent each morning laying in the hammocks in the back garden by the big Morroccon tent, reading and hanging out with the hummingbirds. I recommend this place for people who need a break from a busy lifestyle, for those who prefer being social in a smaller, intimate setting, or for those wanting to retreat.

Room Tip: All the rooms are equally nice - no need to differentiate

My girlfriend and i spent two days here in Feb, and I second all the 5-star reviews.
The pool area is beautiful with the gas fireplaces on at night. temps are kept close to 100 degrees in the main pool and a bit warmer in the hot tub. this ensures the ability to swim comfortably at all times (also unlike most hotels they never close-so enjoy that 2am swim).
the moroccan decorated rooms are kitschy, but all part of the fun. And the people who work here are really outgoing, so loosen up while you're there and enjoy the free cocktail hour.
Dining options in town suck, but Palm Springs is closer than you think. We didn't get any spa treatments, but lounging around for two days is treatment enough for me. Go here--It's definitely one of a kind. suggestions for improvement.... I'll say get some flat screen tvs for the rooms to go with your movie library, and rethink that garden space. Really hope to be back someday!

Room Tip: if you always wanted to be like Hef, the Sultan's Playpen rooms have round beds

My husband and I visited El Morocco Inn in September of 2010 for our anniversary, and found the place enchanting. The owners really put their hearts and souls into it, and really make the effort to connect with each one of their guests. Moroccotinis by the pool every afternoon is a great way to chat with them and the rest of the guests. Love the french press coffee in the morning to take back to our rooms. Amazingly refreshing spring-water pool that they have to cool, rather than heat. Something about it really seems to calm you. Love all of the accents, which really make the place come alive at night. Can't wait to go back!

It took us two years to return to El Morocco, but after the first stay we knew we would. El Morocco is on our short list of destinations for a quiet, restorative long weekend. Our expectations were met and exceeded. The natural hot spring mineral waters make the pool and oversized spa a special treat and really do have a way of soothing rough edges.

The facility is clean and the attention to detail is evident wherever you look. The staff is wonderfully responsive. (We hope the “new” Ernest, becomes the “old” Ernest.) The leisurely continental breakfast is varied, fresh and healthy.

When we felt the need to leave El Morocco for a spell, we found three nearby restaurants that we enjoyed for dinner—Thai, Mexican, Italian. And our hike at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve was great—amazingly varied terrain and sites!

I chose this as a destination for a much needed mommy-daddy night away. My goal was total laziness and relaxation. I was intrigued by the "theme" & natural hot spring ideas colliding. It seemed a little risky, and adventurous, with a mysterious flair. So, we decided to go for it! WOW, we were not dissapointed. The website does not do this place justice. I could go on and on...the staff - most attentive, the theme - authentically executed, the rooms - well appointed.

We decided that since this was a splurge for us (the room cost), we would bring our own food and drinks for dinner, and plan on not leaving the "compound" during our stay. It was 24 hours of relaxation, as we soaked in the hot tub, cooled off in the pool, and sipped on cool natural spring water.

We truly felt like we had been welcomed into a friend's house, and given the run of the place. The pool never closes, and Casablanca is on a loop in the game room! DVD's, chips and sodas are on a help-yourself system!

Bruce (the owner) is an absolute RIOT, and the best host you will ever meet. Nearly all of the decor and much of the furniture are hand picked authentic Moroccan pieces that Bruce himself had shipped to the U.S. from Morocco. Many of the pieces have a story to go along with them. If you ask him, he will tell you....

This place is the real deal, meaning, vintage Spa-tel. It used to be the Caravan I think, and the basic structure has not changed, but, all rooms have some form of Air Conditioning.

Pack your bathing suit, toothbrush, flip flops, and check this place out!

Room Tip: We were in the Arabian Alcove, and it was perfect. Quaint and small, but it was only steps from the...

our trip to the el morocco inn was amazing. So very very relaxing and very romantic. My boyfriend said "I've never been sad to leave a hotel before" We came here for our first anniversary and I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend it. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I was able to leave all the chaos of normal life and LA behind for a few days and have some much needed relaxation and loving time together with my boyfriend. The staff is amazing, Bruce is such a character and its hard not to pick up on his excitement. He really has created something beautiful with El Morocco. I felt at home my entire trip, I love that everything was open 24 hours, the fireplaces, the pool, the hot tub, the gardens and the sauna. Our room was beautiful and on the recommendation of some other reviews brought our own food so that we didn't have to leave. We had dinner out one night at the Capri, most of the food was ok, but the steaks, oh the steaks were AMAZING. Definitely one of the best steaks I've ever had. We followed our stay with a trip up the aerial tramway which was cold! but so neat.
Bottom line: GO HERE, no seriously you won't regret it. I wish I could go back and live there.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were beautiful, we stayed in the sheiks retreat and it was lovely.
