We love Sorella Cafe. Lovely people run the place, the restaurant is charming, and the food is delicious. This is a go-to spot for our family and for my wife and I on date nights. We'll split a salad and order pasta or one of the nightly specials. They have excellent sauces that work well with pasta or fish (various cream, white wine, or Bolognese). The wine ranges to fit budget and mood. We find the house red or a Chianti pair nicely with most dishes. There are some gluten-free folks in our group and we appreciate having a really good GF penne available. Great food and nice folks in a casual yet festive atmosphere. Good stuff.

Being from Pennsylvania, we reviewed over 100 reviews and decided to try Sorella Cafe. Perfect pick! Fresh bread to start, also (non pitted) olives were a nice touch. All pasta we got was fresh, so much better than other restaurants pasta. Had a few special request and they were happy to accommodate. After the meal they brought gummy bears and animal crackers! My wife and son loved them! We drive around 20 minutes to get there, totally worth it. Keep up the good work!

Everything about Sorella is great. It is a super-friendly family run business. The same folks have been there for the last 10 years I've been enjoying it. Chianti is served (optionally) in colorful, ceramic rooster carafes, your server greets you at your table with a quarter-wheel of solid parmigiano cheese and wedges out a huge chunk onto your side plate to go with the bread. The dishes are all super tasty. My favorite is to get the gnocchi, but ask them to use the meat sauce instead - amazing. The cioppino is amazing as well. At the end of the meal, they ask you if you want dessert, but they bring you a cup of animal crackers and gummy bears with your cheque, so...? :-) Honestly, I've never had their desserts, but I suspect they are amazing judging by the rest of their food. A fun way to get dessert after Sorella, but build a gut-clearing walk in between your meal and the sweets, is to enjoy the animal crackers and gummy bears, then walk two blocks over to Fairfax Scoop for some amazing handmade ice cream. The two combined make for a very nice evening in Fairfax.

Excellent food, warm, friendly service and welcoming atmosphere - we love this place! To start off, a big hunk of cheese is brought to your table and the server shaves off pieces to go with the basket of bread. The salmon is always perfectly cooked and you cannot go wrong with any of the pasta dishes. Best in Fairfax!
