This is a retail nursery at first glance but has much more to offer. Located between downtown Fallbrook and Interstate 15, this is a lovely place to stay an hour or two. Besides the nursery, there are some gardens, a goat pen where kids can feed the goats (small fee), a cafe with salads, sandwiches, pie and baked goods, a bird watching area, a gift shop, and now a fairy garden and house for little kids. The latter will cost about $5 but you will get credit for the same amount towards items in the gift shop. Many drought tolerant plants available. They also have special events throughout the year, such as holiday celebrations.

It was a pleasant surprise to find this place close to the city of Julian. This kind of garden is so relaxing and totally different from those well landscaped ones. There are fountains, herbs and bird houses hanging on trees. Cute nursery and old carousel. There is a food truck inside the premises that serves delicious quesadillas with all the trimmings. We had a berry lemonade and a so good berry pie for dessert. We bought a whole pie to take home. No need to drop by Julian for a pie.
There are activities for kids such as feeding the goats ($3.50) and a fairy house. There is a 5.00 entrance fee for the fairy house which could also be used towards purchase of curious to build a small fairy garden. The inside of the house was magical. With string lights and small figurine fairies all over. It felt like stumbling into an enchanted forest. My friend and I felt this place is a great stress reliever. There is no entrance or parking fee. Great for a short road trip.

If you like to explore little hidden hideaways, be sure to stop in at Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Nursery. It’s lovely! Their staff is superb – friendly, efficient, personable and available. You are surrounded by nature – plants, trees, birds, flowers and rescue goats. They have garden areas to meander in to watch birds and butterflies, a lovely gift shop filled with lots of goodies and antiques, a carousel from the Santa Barbara zoo, goat feeding, homemade pie and lemonade, crepes/etc…, fairy garden decorations, picnic area, Café Bloom and a resident kitty cat. They keep the entrance fee FREE so you can enjoy the experience there (e.g., fill your tummy with wonderful farm to table treats) and/or take your treasures (e.g., jams, handmade toys, lotions, candles, plants – too much to list) home to continue your Myrtle Creek experience!

The staff are all friendly. They have goats for children of all ages to feed at a minimum cost $. There is a beautiful house that houses everything you need to create a fairy garden of your wildest dreams $$ +

It's got some charm, but is somewhat disjointed, overgrown. We planned to have lunch out there, but quickly changed our minds and decided to head into Fallbrook instead. The goats were cute and the gift shop was fun. BTW - the Myrtle Creek Winery is not connected to this, so there is no wine tasting there, but it is just up the road - visible from the parking lot.

My wife was planning to make an outing with friends to visit here from about an hour trip away. We did an advance run to check it out and it was not at all like the photos on their web site. No pretty flowers or any real color. It seems like a lot of potential but basically looks pretty old and run down. So if you decide to go just be realistic on expectations.

Quaint country charm. It’s a great place to come with friends and family. You can spend a few hours or a whole day viewing the gardens and nursery. The Farmhouse Gift Shop is a must stop for unique gifts.

Just a fun place to wander. I take my guests there now, it's that different, with the goat yard, wine tasting, lunch/picnic venue, not to mention the plants and fantastic gift shop in a beautiful historic house. Just a nice, soothing place to see an hang out for a while
