The first thing we noted upon entering the home was the musty smell of mildew. We opened all the doors and windows and it helped. The smell never cleared from the downstairs bedroom, like carpet had been wet and never fully dried. Upstairs was much better. The home is old and although it has great bones it desperately needs to continued to be updated by the owner.
The carpet in the house has bare spots coming through, a newer leather couch in the living room was comfortable but the other two love seats (one of which is a pull out bed) were pretty broken down. The king bed in the downstairs was comfy as was the upstairs queen bed. The kids could not sleep in the bunk bed as it was very loud and noisy anytime someone moved, so one slept on the couch to get some sleep.
The hot tub was nice as was the sauna. The view from the decks amazing. The kitchen has been updated and was nice to cook in.
Destination Big Bear was amazing to work with and they did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. The house had pots and pans that were horrible, only a few very dull knives and a few mismatched drinking glasses. They sent someone right away with a new pot/pan set, new glassware, new can opener, missing bath mats. Their service was impeccable and we can't thank them enough.
Just be warned I have a mold allergy and the house literally had me swallowing Benadryl and use of an my inhaler.
