We were in the area for a softball tournament and this was a reasonably priced hotel close to where we wanted to be. We arrived very late in the evening and the front desk was very friendly and efficient in getting us into the room. The room was as advertised with 2 king beds and away from the elevator. Unfortunately breakfast was started after we had to be on the road the next morning but the Starbucks across the street was open early. Even though the heat was extreme in the afternoon the room stayed cool and comfortable. The hotel is in an easy to get to location and the staff is some of the nicest I have met on my many travels. Will be our go to hotel for the next time we are in the area..

Room tip: Away from the elevator is always best. The elevator is slow so lower floors are faster.

Although the customer service received from the staff was amazing. My poor review stems from the fact that when I awoke one morning there was a roach crawling around my room. The staff was very apologetic but it didn't take away from me wanting to check out as soon as possible, which meant at five in the morning.

Dear traveler... Thank you for taking a few moments to provide feedback on your stay. Even information that does not shine us in the most positive light is valuable to both the hotel and our guests.

Please know, that the issue you experienced is not one of cleanliness. Our housekeeping department works extremely hard to make sure our guest rooms are as clean and comfortable as possible. However, we do have an ongoing battle with nature... and nature sometimes wins out. Our hotel is in a largely "outdoors" area, formerly part of the American River bed. Oriental cockroaches are natural to this area, living under the bark, leaves and cobble that are so prevalent here. They are what you would call "outside" roaches. But, every now and then one of them wanders into the building in search of water. We have screens and door sweeps to keep this from happening more often, but obviously those measures did not prevent your experience.

We get it. Roaches freak people out, regardless of circumstance. Just know that we are taking every preventative measure possible to ensure our guests do not have similar encounters as yours.

Wonderful experience. Comfortable and the staff found some left items, phoned us and we were able to retrieve in a couple of days. Very pleased. We also visited some wineries in the area--Amador county, and found the experience to be very pleasant.

Beds were comfy and the room was clean. Breakfast and service (when they had to come to our room twice) could be better. Property was really far off the freeway into town and you had to take the dark streets to get there. Didn’t like that with a late night check-in but some might be ok with that. Overall nothing too bad to say but if you are counting on a decent continental breakfast, forget it. All of the hot items were no good. Oatmeal, eggs, and sausage were not good. If Apples, oranges, yogurt, and cereals you are eating then it was fine. This hotel was definitely a decent spot but I don’t feel it was worth what they charged to stay there.

It wouldn’t take much to make this property more attractive and higher quality. The paint job in our room was very poor and the doors and woodwork were very beat up. The drapes were not attached properly and the room was just blah and uninviting. The location is good and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just ok.
