Our upstairs room had a balcony with a great view. I was surprised to have a wood-burining fireplace and a frigde. This was an upgrade I had not asked or paid for. The Senior rate was $150 including tax on a Thursday night. Friday and weekends is about $35 more per night. Very comfortable king sized bed with lots of pillows. Breakfast had everything you can think of: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, make your own blueberry waffles, hot and cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast........
They also some some dinner and golf packages but with many great places to eat, we decided not to get locked in at the Moss Bay Distillery for $70 more. But if that is where you want to eat, it's a pretty good deal. You get a certificate for $75 for food and 2 drinks and a movie back at the motel. Our favorite place is the Flying Fish on the north end of town.
You can book online or the front desk is very helpful and seems to be the same rates. There was also a non-refundable advance purchase rate if your plans are firm.

Room Tip: Our room was the farthest possible from the heated outdoor pool and spa. I was too lazy and the eve...

This is definitely a better Best Western than most. It has a charming lobby with friendly staff, but unlike many hotels it also has style. California Mission style, but well done. There is only one elevator, which wasn't convenient to our room, so we hoofed it up a flight of exterior stairs. I wasn't initially happy about stairs, but it turned out to be easy and I needed the exercise to work off all the good food. The room was spacious, clean, well appointed and had a quiet garden view. This hotel is the best deal in town and is an easy drive to the town center. Pretty much everything here is a drive from accomodations.

Room Tip: This hotel is off the highway, so it appears that all the rooms are in quiet locations.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and were very pleasantly surprised. The grounds were gorgeous. Plants and flowers were everywhere. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast also, which included eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. We ate each morning outside by the fireplace. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet, with a balcony overlooking a courtyard. We will definitely stay here again when we come back for a visit.

This was a return trip for us to this Best Western. So close to San Francisco, but seemingly a country away! A very nice location, but not on the beach if that is what you prefer. We spent Christmas weekend 2011 there. We were warmly greeted at check-in by a wonderful gentleman who offered us hot apple cider and cookies! There was a very nice Christmas tree in the lobby. We had brought all of our gifts with us with the intention of opening them by such a tree in the hotel lobby. What a surprise to find a lighted tree in every room! Since we had adjoining rooms ( which I didn't even request!) we just opened them up and had a delightful Christmas morning celebrating in our rooms! A very memorable Christmas, and a great referral for a nice restaurant downtown (Mezza Luna)!

Room Tip: If you don't like to hear people above you walking about, be sure to get a second floor room. Th...

For middle of the road, this is great. This is great value in this price range. Stayed here a couple of times and have yet to have a complaint for this price range, it is what it is, it is not luxury. It is comfortable, clean and pleasant. Nice earth friendly organic bath products and complimentary breakfast and water in rooms is a bonus. Will stay again.

My 7 year old son and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Half Moon Bay Lodge in February and were very pleased with our stay. Our room was nice enough; it wasn't fancy, but quite pleasant. Our room has sufficient space and a lovely fireplace (which we put to good use both nights). The hotel isn't the most modern, but very clean and well kept. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful, suggesting sights to see and giving us directions and maps. The pool is heated year round and although the weather was chilly (hovering in the low fifties), we used the pool and spa (each room is supplied robes and a child's size was given to me at the desk for my son). There is a gym on the premises, but it is quite small, but was very well maintained and there is a sauna. The hotel is not walking distance from anything (except the restaurant next door), but driving in Half Moon Bay is easy and everything was a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again, it's a good value for the price.
