The property is beautiful, the wine was good, and the host/pourer was engaging.
However, disappointment came when we tried to take advantage of the Visa Signature 2 for 1 tasting. He took away the regular menus and brought us "special" menus, which were shorter, with no options, and focused on varietals we did not like. When we showed some hesitation, he said, "Don't worry about it," and brought back the normal menus. He poured me short pours as the driver (as if we were sharing), with a subset selection of the regular menu. All of which we were fine with, until he charged us full price for two tastings.
If you're going to participate in the promotion, only offering a reduced tasting for the same fee is a bit of a bait and switch. Then, in a culture where most tasting rooms give "free" extras to make you feel special and engender loyalty, don't give us more than we ordered and then charge us for the extra. It's going to make me less likely to pick your label the next time I'm at the liquor store, and certainly not going to get me to sign up for your club.
