We visited Lancaster for their release party this year. Heather and Alicia took good care of use. They had the Malbac wine open for tasting, which is a rarity. The food served at the dinner was scrumptious and was prepared by Chef Annie at Chalk Hill. We enjoyed the tastings in the wine cave and got an extra special tasting for being members.

Wonderful tasting experience. The Reserve Sauv Blanc and Cab blends were among the best we tasted. The picnic area is secluded and quiet. A few yellow jackets to contend with but they are after meat and soft drinks. We are so happy that Lancaster is part of the Foley Food and Wine group and look forward to visiting them again.

The cave tour and tasting were excellent. Rachel is an outstanding guide. The Cabernet and Malbec were fabulous. The tasting room within the cave is beautiful.

Awesome wines! Great hostess "Rachel" Very small and intimate tour. The staff were awesome... would have loved to see the owners house "which is for sale"... a must stop if you are a wine enthusiast

My husband and I live in the area and are avid wine enthusiasts. We had never tasted at Lancaster Estate before, so one beautiful day this spring we decided to give it a try. Upon arriving, we were asked if we wanted a tasting and handed a list of wines that were being poured. At no point were we told (either orally or in writing) that tastings were $20 each (which is on the high side for Sonoma County) nor that the tasting fees would not be waived with a purchase.
We don't know of any other winery in Sonoma County which refuses to waive a tasting fee upon purchasing wine -- much less a winery that would spring that fact on you at the end of the tasting! Needless to say, we did not buy the very expensive cab we planned to purchase, but paid our $40(!) in tasting fees and left. We felt mislead and defrauded - ruined the lovely day and nice wine.
We urge consumers to boycott Lancaster Estate and other any winery which refuses to waive a $20 tasting fee upon a wine purchase -- selling wine is the winery's purpose, after all.
