Had the Spencer Steak. It was cooked perfectly and very tender. The steak was perfect. The sides were a bit small. Beans were okay and the salsa gave me something to look at I guess.

We visited on Labor Day. They were out of the chowder. We enjoyed the beet salad and Ahi Tuna Loin. Good but not great.

This was our first time at this restaurant. We had a fabulous waitress who was very helpful and explained how our food was to be prepared and that helped us tremendously. We ordered the early bird special and it was very good. The only downside was that the tritip was very salty for us as they rub the meat, prior to it being roasted on the grill, with a salt rub. Then they also salt the meat when they finish cook it. Our waitress said to request no salt for the finish cook next time we visit this restaurant. We will be sure and request this next time.

Steaks cooked over red oak in the Santa Maria (CA) style have a distinct smoky flavor and reason enough to go here. My favorite is the baseball top sirloin at $28 - comes with pinquito beans, salsa and a small piece garlic bread. There are several steaks to choose from and are 10 oz min so women may want to share. Bone in pork chop is first rate and hamburger is very good. Cocktails and beer choices are fine, wine is more limited and only Central Coast (corkage is $20 which is better deal since by the glass wine is expensive). Service is efficient and friendly. Dine inside or out (firepit and some cover - but on busy street). Most people order an appetizer to share or order two sides to share for four people. For sides I like the broccolini (has the same grilled smoky flavor. and the mac and cheese. Not a large restaurant so reservations suggested at dinner on weekends. About $50 per person.

Ate here with family. Food was mediocre. Service was spotty at best. Person who took our order was reasonably good, but pushed some of the menu choices that could use a lot of improvement. At our table we ordered 7 different menu items---all of them could be much improved, including the meat temperature, which was served wrong.Servers bringing food from the kitchen never once got the right table the first time, in fact they forgot to serve a person at our table. We had to ask for the omitted meal. Sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere.
