“Fun Visit to an Emerald Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2012

We enjoyed a weekend stay/reunion with friends at this desert resort. Indian Wells is an ideal setting for this type of resort. The golf courses are rated as some of the best in the area. The hotel is not new but appears to be updated and very well managed/maintained. The pool has fountains, whirlpools and a sandy beach for young kids. From the time we arrived the service was excellent. The room was large and had a view of the interior courtyard and pool. There was a unique walk through closet between the bedroom and the huge bathroom. Get ready to walk as the building is gigantic, but the design is user friendly. We especially enjoyed the availabilty of the newspapers. We also appreciated the food and service at Cava and Sirroco restaurants. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Choose an upper level room (we were on 7th/top floor) for the views.

I ended up stayuing here for business and the hotel was night and day from my previous stay 10 months earlier. No complaints...updated rooms, new TV's around the Pool Bar, Pool staff was friendly and accomodating, bartender (older Hispanic gentlemen) was great, he mixed a mean margarita. Very satisfied this time around.

Room Tip: Give it another shot if stayed prior to the May 2011. The Indian Wells Golf Courses are perfect, it...

I attended a professional conference that was hosted at this hotel and upon reading the reviews had very low expectations for the resort. However, I ended up very pleasantly surprised and did not experience any of the negatives that have been mentioned in previous reviews (poor service, poor cleanliness). I found the resort staff to be very responsive and customer service oriented, and the room to be very clean (and I'm particular about cleanliness...)

I stayed in one of the corner rooms, 7077, with a friend who was attending the conference as well. We were pleased by the room (which was quite spacious, 400+ sq.ft.) which had a lovely view across the golf course facing the mountains. The beds (2 queens) were very comfortable, there were two closets a good sized bathroom, and icy cold A/C (although it runs loud, so if you don't like that it may be problematic - for me it's like the white noise of a fan). The room has a small balcony as well.

The hotel has a very odd layout - it reminded me of an embassy suites that they had remodeled, as there is a center courtyard area with rooms arranged around it going up 7 floors, then other rooms that connect by corridors, as though they were separate buildings that were later attached.

The food was surprisingly good and we had two dinners in the bar area (it's in the middle of the inner courtyard area) from which we could choose from the menus of all the on-site restaurants. Our server, Tony, was stellar - he went above and beyond to cater to our needs. For example, I joked that had they had a brownie with ice cream on the dessert menu I would have ordered a dessert, but that the offerings listed were "too fancy" for me. 10 minutes later he showed up with a brownie with ice cream on top, and as it wasn't on any menu he didn't charge for it!

There is a very nice outdoor pool that has a large sandy area on one side and on that side it is quite shallow and gradually deepens. It is great for kids and I could have easily brought my 7 y.o. to this resort and she would have been thrilled. I would highly recommend this resort for a family seeking to escape somewhere warm for a long weekend, and if my husband didn't have an aversion to Palm Springs we'd likely do that ourselves.

There are a few fun activities you can do besides golf (we played hookie from our conference one day) such as Joshua Tree national monument (see pictures), a tram that goes to the summit of one of the mountains, and Indian canyons park.

Room Tip: 7077, top floor corner room. Has 2 queens, balcony, lovely mountain view and is in very good repair.

Just leaving this hotel after a few days. I found it to be unfriendly, overpriced, and disappointing. I checked in to find a dirty paper cup in my room. Wifi required a hotel tech to make it operational. I ended up with a room overlooking the entrance after a very long walk from the lobby and it was very noisy. Food and drink prices can be a shocker. I just felt the resort was big, impersonal and not operating as well as the prices they charge should indicate. With all the choices in this area i would not return here. And the rooms, tired!

Room Tip: Stay across the way at the Hyatt

Absolutely beautiful resort. Beautiful pool, excellent fitness room, in fact, they do classes as part of the resort fee, as well as, having cruiser bikes to ride around the resort. Staff very helpful and friendly. I loved everything about this hotel.

My family (my husband, 7-year old and I) stayed here during the big tennis tournament in Indian Wells. I was not impressed with the hotel facilities (ok, the pool is grand) and found it to be rather shabby and unkempt. Our room was far from the lobby elevators but close to the bank of elevators that go to the pool. We could hear the elevator operating all night long! The housekeeping was severely deficient - scaps of paper remained on the floor day after day, the shower curtain was not on correctly (the rings were just not put through all the holes), the towels were sometimes new (thick and plush) and other times old (thin and worn), our ice bucket was never emptied even when just water remained, we never got turn down service, and the nightstand was horribly dusty throughout our stay. I will definitely stay elsewhere when I come back to the area!

The hotel is well situated for the BNP Paribas open tennis tournament which we were going to. amenities made it feel a bit like an Embassy Suites with interior courtyardvand bar below mailing it noisy for guests trying to sleep. our room wasn't as clean as you would expect from a hotel charging this much money. food at the sirocco restaurant at the hotel was excellent, as was service.
