We have stayed at the Miramonte probably 10+ times over the last several years, and yet we have never written a review. Well, they deserve a review so here goes.
Rooms: We love the size of their rooms. They are HUGE, and well appointed. The beds and pillows are very comfy, and the room has anything you would need. The bathrooms are on the smaller side compared to the rooms, and are a bit dated, but it is obvious the resort has worked hard to modernize them as much as possible. (Note: the Resort is updating rooms this summer)
Grounds: Simply amazing. They are clean, beautiful, and very well layed out for privacy.
Pools: The resort pool is very big, and has a ton of features (free water with orange in it, lounges, fountains, cabanas, etc). We have never been when it was very crowded, so can't complain about that. The adult pool is smaller, but quiet.
Spa: This is where the resort shines. Their spa is intimate and sooo relaxing. The spa pool is quite the oasis from the crowds you might find somewhere else.
Service: With only a few minor hiccups, this staff does an amazing job taking care of their customers.
Location: Perfect. For those that complain about being 20-25 minutes from Palm Springs. Invest in Google Maps. Its pretty simple these days to know where a resort is located before you book it. We LOVE where this resort is located. In between La Quinta and Rancho Mirage, and within short driving distance of anywhere you would want to go.
Overall: This is one of our favorite resorts, and one of the best in all of the desert.

This visit to the Palm Springs/Indian Wells area was a weekend getaway for my husband and I. We weren't sure what to expect at this hotel since it was advertising itself as a "resort". The area it was in was away from the main action of everything including shopping along the main highway that goes thru downtown Palm Springs and far from the casinos.
I booked it thru Priceline so I was surprised that upon checkin we were told we were going to have to pay for parking. I had to argue slightly with the front desk clerk that Princeline had no mention of extra fees for things like parking. I'm very familiar with this fee when traveling, but this was not accurately noted in the reservation. After a little discussion we were not charged the fee, but it made for a bad start since the desk clerk was unfriendly about the whole thing.

We were given a map to reach our room which seemed quite a ways from the lobby. The building structure of this resort was of individual two story buildings with about 4-6 rooms per building had to be reached by walking outside in the desert heat. Since we were here in August, this was not a pleasant experience pulling our luggage along behind us. Once we got to the room, we were pleasantly surprised. The largest hotel room we have ever had. It wasn't as nicely appointed as we had hoped but it was definately better than most. The room was very quite, probably due to the fact there aren't very many tourists to the Palms Springs area during this time. We of course know you can get the lowest rates in this area during this time, but with a price of course. Be ready to burn!! :-)
One of the reasons I booked this room was because of the "adult only pool". We wanted to sun bath and enjoy poolside drinks in peace. Unfortunately even though we were up early and out to the pool by 8:00 am, so was everyone else. The pool was packed! No room to sit and it didn't seem quiet either. So we headed back to the room, changed and headed out to a favorite spot we get massages at. We didn't eat at the restuarant at the hotel because it was overpriced, so we headed to the Springs and grabbed something on the main drag. Wasn't the great weekend we had hoped for. Would not reccomend this place unless you can get a very low rate, like under $50 a night like we did.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences from your stay last August. In the summer months the resort’s pools are quite busy as it is seasonally very warm. It was great to hear that you enjoyed your accommodations. We hope to have the back with us this coming summer.

The hotel location in Indian Wells is great but the property itself is getting a little tired. For the price of a room, I would have expected the property to be in better condition.

Things we liked:
1. Concierge - she was very helpful.
2. large and clean room.
3. Lunch at pool.
4. My massage was great!
5. Fitness center good with updated treadmill.
6. Pretty and peaceful grounds.

The bad:
1. Really far from downtown Palm Springs -a $50 cab ride one way! A shuttle archive would be nice. We don't drink and drive. We took the city bus one way for a buck but it took forever.
2. A large group of drunken ladies were at the pool. I have no problem getting my drink on but this was way out of hand and the staff supported their awful behavior. They repeated the f word over 50x loudly! Showed nipples and butts and these were not skinny girls! Did I mention this was not the adult pool- there were children present!!
3. Hallways were in bad need of a paint job. They were also pretty dirty.
4. The shower-it was not nearly hot enough and the shower head was a weird one-the water was actually painful the way it sprayed. A nipple torture device!
5. Breakfast-it could have been the best oatmeal I have ever had but it was barely warm. :(

Sorry that I said nipple 2x- oops 3x now!

nice touch of chocolate strawberries each night!
nice hotel grounds. lovely views of mountains.

This lovely hotel has many things going for it. First and foremost are the accommodations. All rooms are situated in two-story buildings, placed at different angles around the grounds. This leads to an appearance of bungalows, rather that a stuffy high rise hotel. We stayed in a superior room which was quite large. One of the best features was a full bath, with a second sink and mirror just outside the bath. This made getting ready so much easier for two people. Most rooms have a small hedge trimmed patio with a small table and two chairs. Perfect for breakfast dining al fresco in the morning. Free wi-fi is available in each room as is a coffee pot with complimentary coffee. The beds and pillows were really comfortable and the toiletries were upscale. The only negative was no in-room robes but I'm sure if I called, they would've been available.

The grounds are gorgeous. Italian-style hedges and fountains as well as hammocks and bocci balls to play with are scattered throughout the hotel grounds. Some of the planters contain herbs such as sage, rosemary, etc that are actually used in their hotel kitchen. The spa looked lovely, although we did not use it and the pool was just the right temp for dipping off in the 99 degrees we had during our stay.

Poolside service is exceptional. Great selection of sandwiches and food -- we tried the turkey club which was served on focaccia with fruit or fries. There is a full bar, several beers and one on tap beer available. Service is friendly and attentive. The only thing that made us not feel like we were in Italy was the large rooms and the almost 100 degree heat!

The check in and check out experience was so warm and welcoming! We really felt appreciated and looked after with all the staff. We will DEFINITELY stay here again and have already recommended it to several of our friends.

Room Tip: Each building is named after a location in Italy. Capri, Sorrento, etc. Although we went mid week...
