Owner description: It was supposed to be a children's pool, but the harbor seals took over and it's a main tourist and local attraction. Great picture spot.

We were able to check this location out however not able to enter this area as the seals were pulling at the time we went. Great spot to see the mother seals and their baby’s.

It was fun to walk to this location from our nearby accommodations and to watch the sea lions sunning themselves on the shore. It was crowded in the area, and I wouldn't have wanted to be driving a vehicle here.

The beach area was closed to protect the seals and their pups and to keep people safe. It is a really nice area to watch the wildlife. There are showers here but it looked worn down and I chose not to use them and just focused on watching the wildlife instead. This is a very short and easy walk to La Jolla Cove and the La Jolla Caves.

We overshot La Jolla Cove while trying to find parking ....and we're glad we did since we ended up at the Children's Pool. The seals and sea lions are everywhere here! Some are playing in the water, so make sure you walk down to the lifeguard wall to check out the action around the rocks. A very enjoyable place and if you want to dip your fee in the ocean, you can go just a few hundred feet away from the children's pool area for easy access.

We stopped by the Children's Pool a couple of days ago. You were not allowed to swim because of the pupping season. We were able to see lots of cute baby seals playing with their mothers.
