Description: George's at the Cove is a renowned three-level dining destination located in the heart of La Jolla overlooking the Pacific Ocean and northern coastline. Considered the region's best rooftop dining, the popular George's Ocean Terrace - complete with a newly expanded and elevated bar - offers casual al fresco fare for lunch and dinner that is perfectly complemented by sweeping ocean views. Recently reinvented from floor to ceiling, the all-new George's Level2 - located on the second level - is elevating the craft of cocktails with housemade ingredients and handcut ice used in proprietary recipes and twists on the classics, along with unique punches, sours, coolers and more. On the lower level, George's California Modern is a contemporary fine dining restaurant and bar featuring nationally-acclaimed executive chef and partner Trey Foshee's seasonally-driven California cuisine. George's California Modern offers guests an opportunity to explore "San Diego on a plate" through a la carte or tasting menus inspired by the lifestyle, ingredients and sense of place that is San Diego. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to enjoy the San Diego lifestyle to its fullest, George's at the Cove is an essential part of any visit to the region. “Typical over-priced popular La Jolla restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2012

We live out of state and made a point to revisit George's in order to enjoy again the famous chicken and black bean soup. We were shocked to find a nearly one hour wait on a Tuesday in April at 2pm. Seriously??
We had two bowls of soup and two cocktails for close to $50. The soup was very good, but quite a small portion. Only in CA do you have to pay for bread to eat with your soup!
The view here is great and the service was quite good. We will not return.

“Amazing!”

George's Ocean Terrace in La Jolla it's a must!
The food, service and the ocean view are perfect. Generally there are big lines to have seats, so make an earlier reservation!
When going to San Diego/La Jolla, don't miss this place. You will love it!

“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

Went there on business - rooftop bar was fantastic, beer selection was great. Service was stellar. The menu was great BUT the wine is VERY marked up, be prepared to pay a lot more for a bottle than you would buying it off the rack. Nonetheless, fantastic food and selection.

“The food lives up to the food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2012

The dining on the ocean terrace is casual, a very eclectic group of patrons, locals and tourists. Always jammed but the noise level seems quite bearable on the outside. Great people watching. The food is excellent and don't skip the desserts particularly the sticky toffee pudding. The wait staff are very well trained and helpful.
Georges has been around a long time but has kept up with the times and doesn't have that aura of despair that some old time restaurants have. Hip and fun.
