We had a great dinner here. Excellent curry, chicken and desserts. A true slice of South Africa. The samosas were tasty, and the service was outstanding. Great rooftop area for watching the sunsets. Highly recommend.

Mozambique is in a beautiful location and has the potential to be one of the top dining spots in Orange County. The reason I say "potential," is because all Mozambique has going for it with the view and the food, the service is sub par. We had a dinner reservation and had requested a table outside. The hostess on the first floor told us they had a table inside, on the first floor, ready for us. (No view whatsoever) She said there MIGHT be a table on the second floor and we were welcome to go look. So we went upstairs and the second floor patio was about 85% empty. We waited a few minutes for the hostess, who said we could go to the rooftop and see if they had any tables. So we did. The rooftop was crowded and the wait was 45 minutes. So we walked back down and asked for a table on the second floor. There were telephones at every hostess stand and no one offered to call and see if a table was available on any of the other floors. The hostesses were dismissive and seemed annoyed that they had to find us a table. The waitstaff was below average, rarely checking in to see if we needed anything. We had to flag down our waiter to order drinks, dinner, and to get our check. All this being said, the food was good. My husband and I both had the Ahi steak and it was delicious. We are pretty chill, and not demanding diners, but we both commented on the lack of service and how service is nearly as important to the experience as great food. So, if you're the manager at Mozambique, train your staff in guest relations and you will have a 5 star restaurant. My recommendation is have drinks on the rooftop, watch the sunset, then head down the road to Dizz's for unique food and stellar service.

The service is beyond outstanding. They are very attentive and genuinely friendly and extremely hard working. The music is outstanding. We had a great time at the bar listening to live music. Our server was the best. Fantastic evening. Good drinks and great dessert.

Great food here, but the buck stops now, the parking attendant's are the worst I have ever experienced. The are rude, bombastic bunch of goon's. Unless you are driving a Ferrari and you can park it in the handicap zone and flash the cash YOU DON'T MEAN CRAP TO THEM ..
I WILL NEVER GO BACK

If the food isn't right, nothing else matters and Mozambique gets the food pretty right.
I sampled Mediterranean Salad, Fava & Wild Mushroom Minestrone and the Beef Samosas while my partner took a more traditional route of a Caesar salad and Filet Mignon.
While the noodle-free soup would make the gluten-free crowd happy and I personally appreciate a lighter hand with salt, it could benefit from a little more creative seasoning.
My husband's Med Rare Filet arrived Well done but was rapidly replaced.
Otherwise everything was creative and delicious.
A little pricy, but hey it's Laguna Beach...
The one thing I'd like to see the mgt. do is either take out or at least turn off the TVs in the main DR in the evening - the decor and ambience are really nice but those TVs kill it.
