House Tom Yum is wonderful, Pad Thai with combo meat was good but a different spice flair though I really liked it. Nice place

We had a wonderful meal tonight at Bhan Baitong. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. For an appetizer, we had Spring rolls and they were large and tasty. I had the Thai Sukiyaki, a dish I have never had before. It was delicious. I ordered #7 hotness and it was very spicy! Next time I think I will order #5. My husband had the Seafood Volcano, and it came in a black pot. He said it was delicious. Our son had Pad Thai with a fried egg on top and he said it was good. We also had Thai iced tea, which was not overly colored and it tasted great. This was our first time at this restaurant and i am sure we will come back.
I've been eating Thai food for 34 years. I ate at the original Tommy Tangs in Hollywood in 1982. Tommy Tang is the most famous Thai chef. Well the young woman who owns Bhan Baitong has him beat. This is the best Thai food you will find in Orange County and La and San Diego. You are in for a super treat with this food. The Tom Yum and Tom Kai soup is the best ever and her Pad Thai is so yum and with very little oil. Everything has a snap or pop to it. The spring rolls (not fried) with the peanut sauce is to die for. You will love the fish, the curry, the noodles, the peanut sauce, and all menu items. Shooo don't tell everyone you know or you'll be waiting in line. Also they deliver.
Have to say thank you! After living in Thailand many years we have a critical palette - this place hit the spot; the curry was spicy, balanced and very aromatic, the staff amiable and extremely polite, well presented. The Gai Pud Met Mamuang was well balanced - ingredients were fresh and the meat clean and tender, without gristle and did not taste gamey. The presentation was fantastic (clean utensils and plates and the service well organized), as was the atmosphere (Thai music at a comfortable level). The price was extremely good, and the staff speak Thai and English well. We'll be back!
My husband and I love Thai food. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find a real Thai food restaurant. Some of them are Americanize or fusion with Chinese food. Until, my husband's friend told us about this place. Since then, Bhan Baitong are on our restaurant list.
In our first time visit, we ordered Hor Mok Baitong (steamed assorted seafood in red curry). We did not know what kind of food it was. However, one of the staffs explained that the food was rarely found in any Thai restaurant because of the preparation of making the dish. Tempting by the explanation, we tried and found that the food was delicious! With warm steamed rice, the dish was blended perfectly in our mouths!
I always go to the restaurant for dinner or lunch on weekend, but my husband has been there few time for lunch and he is always satisfied besides its lunch menu is cheap!
Despite the restaurant is lovely and clean with friendly staffs, its location is not in an appealing area. When we visited the first time, we felt deserted from the empty stores around, but now, it changed a little bit with few new stores open.
