“Very Interesting Early El Toro Town History”

Heritage Hill Historic Park
Ranked #2 of 19 things to do in Lake Forest
Attraction details
Reviewed January 4, 2017

I took our of town guest here for a local visit. The park is next to a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. The park is free. The park consist of two houses, an early school and a church that have been relocated from other sites around old El Toro to the property. There was an audio explanation of each building that describes life in those times. The property itself is very pretty and we enjoyed it very much. This historical park is practically in your backyard!!

Have been several times, different times and days of week. Nice place to walk through, gather thoughts, meditate.
Have been for the Halloween event; very well put together.
Victorian Christmas is relaxing and peaceful.

Great place to visit - represents the past of the area with Indian, Spanish, American eras shown.

There are some guided tours here but timing was not understood. Call for more information.

Not completely ADA but walker and cane may help. Stairs used to see inside some buildings. Steps up and down in some other areas.

Entrance is is inside mini strip mall.

Worth your time is YES

Heritage Hill Historic Park is a gem tucked away in Lake Forest worth visiting. There is an Adobe furnished with authentic period furniture that provides a glimpse into early California living. A short walk leads to a school house depicting early turn of the century education with appropriate furnishings.

There are several events held at the park during the year. These events, complete with docent participation, highlight special times including Cheistmas celebrated in costume with singers and refreshments for visitors.

During the school year local schools bring students who participate in a class lead by docents in period costume to get a taste of what it was like in years gone by. Much has gone into accurate restoration of all the structures on the property and the cadre of volunteers should be applauded for their efforts.

This park has several buildings, home and a church that were relocated from various locations in the area to thus park. The docents and park put on several programs throughout the year including June Halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas. Have been in the area for over 30 years and always a treat to drop in.
Great for young families and grandkids!!!
