“Delicious swimming, sunshine, peace”
Reviewed 29 July 2010

Camped here after having a day at the Kate Wolf Music Festival. Stacy met us when we arrived early in the morning to set up our spot, and right away we felt like old pals -- she was very welcoming, laid-back and friendly. We walked around a bit together to see various spots where we could set up our tent, and she insisted that we drive up to the lake to see it, saying we could camp up there if we wanted to. So we drove up and around on the dirt road that surrounded the lake and finally stopped on the far side, not sure where a good camping spot would be, but decided to camp at a more accessible spot since we'd be coming back late at night after the day's music. HOWEVER, the lake was incredibly inviting in the warm sunshine, and we were the only people around, so I immediately peeled down and had a truly wonderful swim. The lovely, private camping spot we picked next to the lower pond afforded us a great night's sleep. We tried to identify the different little critter sounds we heard in the night and the morning. As we were camping only for one night, we packed up our gear in the morning and drove back up to the lake for our coffee and another delicious swim -- the dock provided a great little spot for coffee brewing! We'll definitely come back here! The property is beautiful: green hills, trees, water bodies -- very peaceful.
Note that there are a couple of large houses on the property to rent as well.

We had an AWESOME time. We were able to take the kayaks out and spent a day on the lake, did some fishing and even jumped off the rope swing. The people there were a tremendous help, especially Kenny who always seemed to be around when we needed him. The staff went out and beyond to make sure that we were having a fantastic experience. Though we weren't able to meet Stacy, she made sure everything went smoothly. We are avid campers, and this has been the most pleasurable experience we've had. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will definitely be coming back again in the near future. Thank you to all the Mendocino Magic staff for making our 4th of July weekend extremely memorable.

In attending a day at the Kate Wolf Folk Festival, we were referred to Mendocino Magic as an alternative to camping with the festival's throng. It turned out to be a wonderful choice. Stacy met us on the property when we arrived, and immediately made us feel at home as she showed us the different locations on the property to pitch our tent, either in the vicinity of the houses or further up by the reservoir. The campsite we chose was completely private, next to a lovely pond surrounded by reeds and cattails. We also ventured up to the beautiful large reservoir, which was peaceful and perfect for a swim in the sun. We fell asleep at night to the serenade of a bullfrog and woke in the morning to a multitude of birds chirping. The bathroom provided was adequate for our needs. Recommended for easy, quiet, get-away-from-the-crowd camping.

We stayed at Mendocino Magic while we attended the Kate Wolf Festival last weekend. The grounds are wonderful - very private and lush. We had a completely comfortable weekend including two trips on kayaks and swimming in the reservoir. The owner was on site and checked in with us to be sure everything was going well. We heartily recommend this place.

Great little gem on the Mondocino Coast. Right in the heart of a charming little town. Great lobby for people watching. Wonderful martinis.
