My wife and I stayed at the Glendeven for 2 nights. We selected it from the group of local stops due to their focus on wine. We couldn't have been happier with the location, service, value, room, etc. The service is very personal, friendly and consistent. We arrived and quickly met people that had been staying at the Glendeven for 9 years. This makes you feel good when you only have online reviews and pictures. We made a fire in the room each night. Breakfast (very good) is provided each morning. Our morning run was cliff side. Llamas and chickens right outside our door. Town is a quick 2 miles away with good restaurants, etc. There was no TV in our room BUT each room has wifi so our Ipad was good for entertainment when (if) needed. Would I stay at the Glendeven again....100%

We only stayed one night at this historic inn and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room, Bayloft, was wonderful with a picture perfect view of the ocean. The room was large, had a wood burning fireplace, and lovely decor. Breakfast is served in a large picnic basket brought to your room with piping hot organic eggs, fresh orange juice, an apple crisp, bagels, and coffee. All of it is homemade and delicious. The eggs come from their own chickens on the farm. There are hiking trails right at the inn and the beach is a short walk away. We would stay here again in a heart beat. Tillie and Jim Botz

Spent two nights in the Carriage Room. Wonderful views of redwoods and gardens.Great ambiance relaxing in the Wine Bar(n) and talking with Inn staff in evening. Bountiful breakfast served to room in big basket. Eggs beautifully prepared. Given feed for chickens so they would continue to provide great breakfasts in future. Loved watching the Llamas anxiously awaiting to be let out into pasture in the morning. Very much enjoyed being able to just walk across the street and hike to headlands. Miles of trails through Smith Ranch. Be sure to visit Digging Dog Nursery in Albion while there. Overall so relaxing and we were so appreciative of the many small details that make a stay a memorable one. Returning will not be hard!

Room Tip: Big rooms in Carriage House but if you want ocean view pick the main inn. No problem with noise from...

We didn't stay at the inn (although we plan to soon), but if you are in the area Saturday-Monday make sure to reserve a seat for one of the best meals between Ft. Bragg and Sea Ranch. They only seat 10-12 people so reservtions are a must. Small, perfectly prepared courses with wonderful wines. If you enjoy, and appreciate, a special dining experience you will be talking about your evening for weeks to come.

I stumbled upon Glendeven thru Tripadvisor, and am so very glad we found such a lovely, beautifully run b&b. We have already planned a return visit .... this is the kind of place we will return to year after year. Innkeeper John D. and staff are fabulous, the rooms and grounds are a simple and wonderful respite, a perfect getaway on the North Coast. We really never wanted to leave the inn, but for a walk to the ocean bluff, perfectly content to relax in front of the fireplace enjoying the view, a good book, and some great wine. The accomodations are attractive and very comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and perfectly on time, and the staff attentive and friendly. It seems all the rooms offer great views, and we were especially impressed with how well the inn is run ........ beautifully thought out in every way, including the Wine Barn for an evening sip, feed for the chickens, freedom to visit the llamas, late night cookies, and prepared wood burning fires. We really feel we have found a special place with Glendeven, and hope to return each year. Hats off to the innkeepers, a superb job!

Room Tip: We prefer the views and fireplaces in the BriarRose and BayView, but I don't think there is a b...

My husband and I have stayed at all the best, most romantic and well-appointed B&B's up and down the west coast. We stayed at Glendeven once many years ago and found it so-so and so moved on to try other places. Hearing the historic inn had new owners, we decided to give Glendeven another try and are so glad we did. Our room was beautiful, the bed fluffy and inviting, the breakfast perfect, the views breathtaking. We fed the chickens, stood in the coop and listened to their soft clucking and couldn't get enough! At sunset John, the owner, encouraged us to join him in feeding the llamas and what an otherworldly thing it is to stand in a llama pen, petting one of these soft, huge animals, the pacific ocean rolling and misting in the background. For hardworking folks with stressful demanding lives, we cannot recommend a more relaxing stay than a few nights at Glendeven. Thank you Nan and John!

Room Tip: Excellent website makes selecting the right room easy.

Just stayed there for 3 nights and 4 days and just loved my experience. I can't wait to plan another trip and stay at the Glendeven.

I've been to Mendocino 4 times in last year, and by far, this has been my favorite experience.

I was traveling by myself and stayed in the Garden Room, which was super cozy and nicely decorated. Also, no musty smell that some of the places in Mendocino have (being so close to the water). The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in--I bought a pair of the sheets they use home with me.

The owner, John, Cynthia, and all of the staff were very warm and helpful. They had fun suggestions for me for activities in Mendocino and fabulous suggestions for walks and hikes (there are two lovely trails near the inn that go out to the beach and coast).

What else can I say? Very special place, relaxing, beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone and great place for single travelers.

Room Tip: The garden room was really cozy even though it didn't have a fireplace or view. Great for a sin...
