The minute you step into reception you'd be put off, cobwebs, dust, reception office you look straight into is a pigsty. Electrical wires tied together everywhere, scary. Very friendly young Asian checkin guy. Room was large enough but air con very noisy. Large new tiled bathroom in room fridge no tea/coffee making, had to ask for coffee at reception, they made it up to 11am, room service was a laugh, bedspreads just literally thrown over unmade beds, in process of being renovated, location is great 2mins walk to the strip, small pool but no seating

Room Tip: ground floor, 1st past office on the left side of hallway

My brother booked this as a place for a couple of nights on the way to Las Vegas as he wanted to see LA.
The location is perfect for Hollywood Walk of Fame, the bars and clubs of Sunset Strip and to get the hop on hop off bus (do the red and yellow lines and you see everything you need to see in LA in a day).
This hotel is very tired, has no safes in the room, needs a fresh coat of paint, new carpets and a general clean up. Double glazing would also be a bonus a road outside our room was constantly busy. If it had these would be a really great value for money place to stay. As it is it gives the impression you could hire a room by the hour, is unclean and you don't want to spend any time there.
Great for a group who basically used it to shower, get changed and go out. Couple, families and people on business should avoid.

The only thing is its round the corner from the strip.

Otherwise, rooms are basic, decor is dated, pool is tiny, housekeeping non existent, security is questionable, aircon noisy as are the neighbours

Stay for the proximity to walk of fame but not for long

If you're staying in Hollywood and need a cheap room, I think it'd be hard to beat this place. It's only a block to Hollywood Blvd. and the Walk of Fame. It's a short three blocks to the Chinese Theater. It's about the same distance to The Magic Castle. For a budget hotel near everything you'd want to do in Hollywood, you can't beat it.

The room itself was large and clean. The bathroom was huge and very nice. The beds were comfortable.

The negative: The noise. I had read reviews about the noise, so it wasn't a total surprise, but dang. Our room was above the entrance to the parking garage with our windows looking out toward N La Brea Ave. The traffic on this road never ceases and it is LOUD. Some of the rooms farther away from the road might be a little better, but ours was crazy loud.

The parking can be a bit of an adventure too. They have free parking in a garage under the hotel with a coded gate. Unfortunately, you have to walk outside from the garage to get into the hotel, but that's not a huge deal. If you're driving a smaller vehicle, the parking is a piece of cake. I was driving a 3/4-ton Suburban, which sits higher than a standard Suburban. If this thing was another inch taller, it wouldn't have fit through the door without ripping the luggage rack off. If this thing were any longer or wider, it wouldn't make the turn in and out of the garage. Maneuvering inside the garage was very tight as well. I'm a competent driver who can handle big vehicles, so it was more of a fun adventure for me, but I can see some people in larger vehicles having real issues.

The staff wasn't UNfriendly in our experience, but they weren't friendly either. They were just kind of there, doing the bare minimum that was required of them.

If you're looking for a cheap place in Hollywood and can deal with some noise, give the place a look.

The location is good near one end of the walk of fame. I don't know how well they clean because there was a bottle cap on the floor and a dry towel over the shower. Parking was good under the hotel. The hotel wasn't much to look at, but it served its purpose and the bed was comfortable.
