We stayed here for the final two nights of a two week vacation and it was just what we needed. The home-like environment felt so comforting after 10 days spent traveling internationally. Everything was clean and comfortable, and Gayle the manager was super kind and balanced hospitality with personal space perfectly. The location is perfect too. It's on a nice residential street within walking distance to delicious restaurants and tourist attractions. There is a lovely grocery just up the road if you need any snacks or want to make your own food. Literally no complaints from these two weary travelers. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

Gayle was a delight and very welcoming, the room was clean and well equipped. Parking was more than adequate (as stated before it was tight to access - even for a moderately sized SUV). The kitchen is fantastic and enabled us to meet fellow guests - a great way to start the day. All in all very happy we chose Hollywood Pensione and would definitely stay again. If I was to be picky I would say that there is a certain degree of road noise if located in the front rooms, but I wouldn’t say it detracted from the overall experience.

Stayed here two nights. The room was very nice and comfortable. Great location. There's a supermarket nearby if you want to prepare your own food, or many good restaurants nearby. Many sites in Hollywood are either within walking distance or short driving distance. Breakfast usually consisted of (large) muffins or bagels, and fruit was readily available (bananas and oranges). Lots of maps and information available for tourists. All-in-all a great stay. Would definitely stay here again without a second thought.

I have stayed here at least 8 times (usually 2x per year) and this place is wonderful. Gayle and family keep a nice home, each with its own bath and it is private. Free off-street parking (and in this area, off street parking is hard to find); a great kitchen, each room having it's own small refrig, an upstairs outdoor patio under a massive avocado tree, great fresh fruit and pastry await in the kitchen every morning. I love this place and would stay NOWHERE else. If you are looking for a convenient-to-Burbank, Hollywood, Los Angeles, hideway, The Hollywood Pensione is IT. You'll not be disappointed. This is MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

Room Tip: Choose the Sinatra room for the most room.

My wife and I stayed for a week in early February at the Hollywood Pensione. There are 3 rooms in this cozy B&B all named after famous Hollywood personalities... we stayed in the 'Elvis Room' which was decorated with period specific play-bills from the King's heyday.

We were welcomed by Gayle, the manager for the B&B who lived on the ground level. She showed us the amenities and was quite friendly and accommodating, printing some LA Kings tickets for us from her personal printer. Gayle continued being an excellent host throughout our visit.

The room was clean and cozy with a queen sized bed, a large LCD TV and private bathroom. The common areas were well laid out and we took advantage of the kitchen and outdoor sitting area every morning to enjoy coffee and muffins/bagels. There's also a sizable sitting area with a comfy couch.

The neighborhood is a close walk to downtown Hollywood attractions (walk of fame, Chinese theater, Pantages/Dolby theaters, etc...) and to the LA Metro. If you're looking for a rural setting, this is not what you'll get at the Hollywood Pensione, but you will find a quiet retreat in the midst of the bustling tourist capital of California. We were lucky enough to arrive when the grapefruit tree in the back yard was producing fruit and we enjoyed several fresh-from-the-tree treats during our stay. Parking is tight; don't come with anything larger than a compact car which will fit into their private parking area. Parking on the streets is also hit-or-miss.

Thank you Gayle... we will be back!
