“The architecture made my heart sing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2012

Came to visit Vincent and Claude (one van Gogh, four Monets - thought there would be more!) but the best part is the complex itself. If I was a Bond villain, this would be my lair, with an ICBM below the circular garden, plenty of room to park a stolen submarine or two, and a whole clutch of eries for death defying climbs.

Seriously, I felt that this was probably the finest single piece of monumental architecture I have ever seen. Beats the Acropolis, makes Edinburgh Castle look bourgeois, and the Kremlin gaudy. Even if the art bores you, just go for the setting.

“Always a sensual delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2012

No matter what the special exhibit you leave the Getty feeling better than when you arrived. There is something for every taste and it is among the best of its class in the world. I have been to many museums around the world and whereas many are dark and gloom illuminating only the art work this building is created to let the light shine...on everything.

“It's a Must When Visting LA”

Yes, there's enough art here to satisfy any museum aficionado. But it's the setting and the architecture that makes this unique in all the world. Perfection!
