Came to visit Vincent and Claude (one van Gogh, four Monets - thought there would be more!) but the best part is the complex itself. If I was a Bond villain, this would be my lair, with an ICBM below the circular garden, plenty of room to park a stolen submarine or two, and a whole clutch of eries for death defying climbs.
Seriously, I felt that this was probably the finest single piece of monumental architecture I have ever seen. Beats the Acropolis, makes Edinburgh Castle look bourgeois, and the Kremlin gaudy. Even if the art bores you, just go for the setting.
