C'mon TripAdvisor reviewers, get real abvout reviews! How in the heck could any of you rate this place any better than 2 stars is beyond me. Its just not possible for many reasons. The only reason to stay here is if you just need a bed to try to sleep on- that's it (and the bed isn't comfortable either). Yes the room is reasonably clean and yes the staff is nice enough, but after that there are NO redeeming qualities of staying here. Its the only hotel in an armpit town where the ONLY place to eat is the Shell station across the street that has a Subway in it. Ugh.....The trucks rumble by right out front so its a noisy place to try to sleep too. I couldn't wait for the sun to come up and get out of there. Either stay on I-5 or drive over to Santa Maria, but don't think this will be a fun stay in a charming little town....unless you like the smell of oil wells!

Room Tip: pick a different hotel!

Who knew that a Motel 8 would be this nice. I'll start with the Friendly guy at the front desk from Fiji. Very Polite and Kind. The Room was extremely Clean. I just didn't expect such a large, well kept room like this from a Motel 8 in the middle of nowhere.

The Motel keeper was such an amazingly friendly guy. Everything was super okay! Rooms clean, the motel is reaaallyy nice! They've got a laundry, coffee breakfast and a pool. It is at an main traffic street, so we thought it could be loud at night im the room, but it wasn't! I would stay here again!!

We were visiting the Carrizo Plain and there are not a lot of choices of places to stay very nearby. The Motel 8 worked well for our purposes. Clean, no frills, flat screen TV, free wifi, quiet, and only $60 total. The furniture wasn't the best looking, but the bed was comfortable. We stayed here eleven years ago and we will stay here again next time we visit the Carrizo Plain. Hope it's not another eleven years!

Room Tip: Upstairs was quiet.

After reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor, and knowing how long we would be on the road did we decide to reserve a room. Be forwarned, it's a truckers / field workers Motel in that 90 % of the people are Loud & Obnoxious and could care less that others are trying to get some much needed rest. The spent the afternoon laughing, drinking, and shouting at each other. When we checked in the "Host Girl" could have cared less if we where there or not, so in the middle of nowhere, and Maricopa is in the middle for sure, you do not have a choice. The room itself was very clean, everything did work fine ( flat screen TV, bathroom, bed was fine too ) and in the morning after 7 am you have coffee in the Lobby, nothing more. Wi Fi was total crap, never would stay on...Pool was very clean, If you want to raise Hell and no one to care if you do, then this is your place, neighborhood Dogas barked all night too... $55 bucks a night. But better to stay on the road and go elsewhere...

Room Tip: go elsewhere....
