This is a homey bed and breakfast in a historic inn (those seeking high-end perfection should look elsewhere). All the real essentials are there: good quality beds and bedding, hot showers, and a tasty breakfast each day. The owner and innkeepers were a pleasure to meet; they are clearly devoted to their work and to making their guests comfortable. Besides, the location of this inn is incredibly convenient to everything. We plan to come back.

Room Tip: Our room on the first floor (72?) was spacious. It had some quirks but it was completely clean and s...

My wife and I stayed here in February while making our way to the redwoods forest to do some hiking. We loved this place, especially the fact that they had a fireplace in the room and given that it was a chilly night, we burned all the wood and went right to sleep. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great B&B experience, oh and btw the breakfast was amazing!

Room 66 - upstairs and spacious! TJ, Vera, and the kitchen staff could not have been nicer. Breakfast was wonderful - eggs, blueberry pancakes, roasted just right purple potatoes, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice - delicious. Romeo, the resident little pup, is super friendly. Location is lovely - we had a view of water from our window. Also has a lovely outdoor patio. This inn is an excellent value. I'd stay here again. Easy walk into the heart of town too.

Was in Mendocino for work and decided to try out a B&B for a change. Upon arrival was met by CJ and Romeo (who was chasing Juliet down the hallway). Very friendly and helpful with the check in and gave us the low down on the property and the area. Good restaurants within 5-10 minute walk.
The rooms are small and quaint, very clean as well which sometimes you don't find with these type of places.
The house was originally built in 1882 so be prepared for the look, feel, squeaks and creaks of a +130 year old house. The property could use a little TLC but it's a giant house.. they seem to be doing what they can. If you're expecting the Four Seasons, this place isn't for you but if you like quirky, funky places with a ton of history, book it !

We are on an 18 day cycle adventure through California and Oregon and this was our stop on day 16. We were so excited as Mendocino sounded awesome and the Dreamtime Didjeridoo too! Having stayed in 17 different hotels / motels we were excited by this one! And it really didn't disappoint the room was huge with a big four poster right at the front of the house and it was so comfortable.

For us the upset and the reason for not giving 5 stars was breakfast! Yes the very reason for why we booked it having read the reviews! Breakfast didn't start until 9am

We had 106 miles to cycle today and needed to be away for 8am at the latest - everywhere else we had been had offered breakfast from 6.30/7.30 at the latest so we were hugely disappointed! When you we cycling breakfast is a huge thing and it would have been nice to have been able to at least access coffee and a continental breakfast instead we had to make do with cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk from the grocery and then buy breakfast later on at additional expense! A shame as this would have been amazing otherwise!

Had a great stay at the Didgeridoo, our first overnight visit to Mendocino. I happened to call and was lucky to score a 1-night (Saturday) in room #65 on the outside corridor. It worked perfectly for us as we could stash our bikes outside the room. The price was very reasonable for Mendocino. TJ, one of the innkeepers, was super friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. She's also a great cook - the breakfast was hearty and delicious! And we very much enjoyed the music and folklore shared during breakfast by local artist, Holly Tannen. She's terrific and her performance put the finishing touches to our perfect trip to funky and beautiful Mendocino.

Some observations if you're looking into staying here: The inn was built in 1881 so don't expect perfection. There's some rough edges, but we found it very clean and comfortable. Note that dogs are welcome; not a problem for us, but be aware. Room 65 is wheelchair-accessible, but the wifi is very spotty in that particular room. We did experience some noise from the water-tower room above. Not a huge problem as most people settle down early in B & B's. However, for our next stay in the fall I plan to book a room in the upstairs main part of the inn.
Coffee is put out at 8 AM and breakfast is served at 9 AM. We're early risers and usually off for a bike ride or hike, so would prefer an earlier breakfast, but since most folks come to a B & B to relax and slow down I can understand the later breakfast time.

Walk to great eateries and all the local shops or relax and meditate in our beautiful gardens and historic lobby. See local art displayed in our relaxed lobby, break bread with us at our open pot-lucks & drink wine with us :) If you play bring your instruments, music happens here. Didjeridoo is perfect for weddings, reunions, small private parties and any other happenings that need to be in a place of love and beauty. Our rooms are great too! They range from quaint to fancy, some Victorian some simple and zen, all beautiful. We are Mendo people and want your visit to our village to be special and cherished. Peace Please note Didjeridoo is not a place that uptight conservative people will enjoy, in fact they will write bad reviews and hate it like they hate many things in life. Didjeridoo is most enjoyed by cool people looking for a nice stay in a beautiful place in an extremely friendly environment. ... more   less
