Romantic walks on the beach. Excellent nearby restaurants. Beautiful view from the windows of the Borogrove room. Excellent special breakfast. Lovely wine and snacks with a chance to visit with John and Dawn and learn about local activities. We will make this a frequent escape from our home in northern CA

Room Tip: Borogrove has a fabulous view and lavish amenities. Well worth the price premium

Our stay at the Jabberwok was in December and the weather was perfect. The inn was walking distance from everything we wanted to do. John and Dawn treated us like family and made us feel very welcomed. It was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and we were extremely happy. The entire house was amazing and decorated for the holidays. John taught us how to play bocci ball and we played a few games into the night with some of the other guest. The breakfast were excellent and accommodating since we are vegetarians. We would recommend the Jabberwok to anybody who wants a nice getaway in Monterey. We cant wait to go back!

Arrived at the Jabberwock Inn on December 3 at approximately 5:00 PM. This was just in time for its nightly wine and cheese get together. The owners John and Dawn couldn't of made us more welcome. We were introduced to the other guests. We were ready for dinner and were invited by another couple staying at the Jabberwock. John and Dawn are marvelous concierges. Their recommendations helped us get the most of our three day stay in the Monterey Bay area. Due to its close vicinity we enjoyed the 17 mile drive, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Carmel, Big Sir, Butterfly Sanctuary, and a array of choice restrauants. Since it was the Christmas season the Inn was in full holiday splendor. John and Dawns collection of decorations, and lights could make Santa envious. The room accommodations from the smallest to the largest would match any guests needs, including sleep number beds. Saving the best to last the daily breakfasts heavenly.

This is a really nice place. We came here at the beginning of January for our honeymoon. We had initially booked the Mome Rath room but they upgraded us to Borogrove - the biggest room in the house. This B&B is based on the book, "Alice and Wonderland" so there are lots of little nice touches that highlight this theme. The room is amazing - very nice view of the ocean. They provided us with binoculars as well. There lots of little nice touches like that - little stuffed animals on the shelves, whiskey on the table, throw rugs on the couch. The wallpaper is hand-painted. The bed has comfort control, and there's a great little fireplace as well. Breakfast is very good - you can eat as much as you want. We had omelettes the first morning and crepes the second. There were a few other couples staying there as well so not too crowded.

In the evening they put out little snacks and cookies - the downstairs is quite big with lots of decorations and places to lounge around. I think John and Dawn actually spend time with guests in the evenings but we were always out. During breakfast they are busy making food and serving so they don't sit down with the guests - wish they had so we could speak to them more! Be sure to buy aquarium tickets for them - they are good for 2 days and cheaper than if you buy them at the aquarium. Saves waiting in line as well. Overall a very memorable stay - can't wait to return to this magical place.

Our stay at The Jabberwock Inn was in September, a perfect time to be in Monterey. The Inn was one of the best B&Bs we've ever visited, a bit pricey but very worth the splurge. The location was very convenient - walking distance from Cannery Row and the Aquarium, but far enough up the hill to be peaceful and quiet. The garden was interesting, with nooks here and there beckoning those wishing a quiet spot for conversation or reading, and there was a bocce ball court for those in the mood for more social or physical activity. The inn was a Victorian style house whose common areas inside the Inn contained quirky and amusing items in the Alice in Wonderland theme, giving credence to the Jabberwocky name. There were chess sets and other games here and there, conducive to relaxation and entertainment, and a supply of chocolate chip cookies ready to hand. Our hosts were welcoming and very accommodating, helping us with sightseeing activities. They also arranged for in-room massages, which turned out to be among the best we've ever had. We stayed in their largest room, which was spacious and full of light - had windows on three sides and was equipped with a very large Jacuzzi. There was also a seating arrangement by the window looking out over the Monterey Bay, a spectacular view. We would love to go back and highly recommend this gem.

Room Tip: Top floor room was quiet and full of light with great view.

My husband and I booked the Jabberwock Inn for our wedding and honeymoon. [He lets me pick all of our hotels, I picked this one because I am obsessed with Lewis Carroll.] When we got there it was like I had found my dreams. It was such a wonderful stay. The innkeepers were absolutely AMAZING! I did my entire Bridal shoot in their sun room because it was raining, and since no one else was in the B&B at the time [all the other guests had left for the day] They let me basically take over the place for my pictures since it was raining the day of my wedding. The breakfast was to die for, I was craving their food during my pregnancy with our daughter. We will be spending time there every year on our anniverseries. The rooms were so comfortable and luxerious. I am so glad that I chose that B&B for our wedding. It wouldn't have been the same without them. They even let our entire wedding party come in between the ceremony and the dinner for pictures. So so amazing. I highly HIGHLY recommend them.

We really enjoyed our two nights at the Jabberwock this fall. This is obviously a highly rated place so I will add to the other posts that what made it particularly nice for us was the warm feeling of sitting and sharing drinks and hors d'oeuvres with Dawn and John and the other guests. We had our two and a half year old toddler with us and he loved the interaction too - and Dawn and everyone seemed to love him. I should add for other parents that Dawn really did want to make sure when we booked that he was a good sleeper and not likely to keep other guests awake. He is now but I wouldn't have brought him really any much younger and respect that she asked that. Some places are for infants and some aren't. We had a great stay and definitely recommend.
