Front Street Inn & Spa
Reviewed 11 December 2011

Wow, what a special place, the view is out of this world, the room is so so comfortable, & the aroma of the French bakery downstairs (Deborah & husband) is truly amazing, and the owners of the Front Street Inn & Spa - Tom & Val (Lulu - the dog) are TOPS!! just what it takes to make a memorable stay. We can't say enough good things.

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms both are great

This little cozy, clean, friendly, place is my favorite in Morro Bay. I will always stay there when I am in town. Thank you ladies for the wonderful hospitality and all the wonderful basket of goodies in our room along with the juice and water...Oh and the free cinnamon rolls are also delicious.

Room Tip: All of them are great but #10 with 2 full size beds upstairs is great, I have also stayed on the one...

Our hosts were great. The room is just like the web site with a fabulous view. The bakery next door was great too. Highly recommended.

This tiny inn is my favorite place to stay in Morro Bay. The husband and wife owners are nice and the prices are quite reasonable for the beachfront location. You can walk to all the shops on the Embarcadero but you are closer to Morro Rock so it's a bit quieter near the inn. Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and modern. They don't offer breakfast but there is a little pastry shop next door and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. I love the view of the harbor from the room. Definitely look forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: Book in advance! Small inn fills up fast!

The Front Street Inn was a lovely surprise! We only stayed one night in Morro Bay as we were on our way back to LA after a momentous Californian Road Trip.
We stayed in "Big Sur" room which was huge and had fabulous views of The Rock. The bed was large and very comfortable and the room had all the extras you could need: fridge, sofa, tv, fireplace.....The bathroom was also large with a fitted hairdryer. Our host had waited up for us as we were a bit late getting in from our drive from San Francisco. The inn is not a b&b so we paid upfront and when we left the next day, we just left our keys on the desk in the office. We would have loved to have spent more time in Morro Bay as the little town is quite quaint and there are loads of restaurants. We were also blessed with fabulous weather, so it would have been really nice to have been able to relax there a bit longer.
The In also has a spa, which had we had the time, we would have loved to try out.

We had an incredible 3 days..This is a very small Inn (2 Rooms) that are beautifully built and furnished. They are on the main street by the water and they have a great view of the rock, about a french bakery, close to great restaurants and close to a nice long beach for walking...if that is not enough, the Spa is right there. We had an incredible massage with Chris. Don't Miss this treat.

Tom and Val are the owners and are lovely.

We can hardly wait to schedule our next visit.

Front Street Inn & Spa was in a good location, away from all the street noises yet close enough to be able to walk to all the main/touristy areas. The room was big, nice, and comfortable.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by one of the owner's father who informed us that the main owners were on vacation. He showed us our room and explain little details here and there about the room, the hotel in general, etc. We were also told that housekeeping service were provided sometime around noon or so. The next day in the morning I decided to make us some coffee using the coffeemaker of the common area (no coffeemaker provided in the room) and by 11:30am we left the room and placed the "Housekeeping Service Please" door hanger on the door. We returned to our room in the evening to find out nobody cleaned our room, our bed was not made, and our towels were not cleaned/changed (which by the way, we were only provided with one set!?!?). Puzzled we looked at a posting on the wall of the room that provided general information/rules regarding the room such as check-in and check-out time and found out that housekeeping service was supposed to happen between 12pm - 3pm.
The next day we decided to make coffee again on the coffeemaker of the common area only to find out that not even the coffeemaker was clean. We had to clean it ourselves if we wanted coffee. Other than having somebody collect our payment at the time of arrival, it seemed like nobody was running this place.
On the day of our departure, not only did we not get an apology (or at least an acknowledgment) for the lack of service/attention but we even got a call before our check-out time to "remind" us we needed to check-out on time because they had to clean the room for the next guests. That was pretty irritating and completely spoil whatever good experience we had of that place.
