Must do experience! We recently did the sunrise tour with our 2 young children. It was an incredible experience being able to see so many animals so close. When one kid became a little restless Captain Joonya was ready with coloring books and crayons. The overall experience was amazing from the views to hospitality! If and when we make it back to the area this will definitely be an activity we do again.

i was booked for the 3:00 pm "afternoon delight" tour this past sunday and as it turned out i was the only passenger. the boat is very clean and comfortable and it's absolutely quiet -- it's awesome to be out in nature and not having to hear an engine.
sean was so kind and generous with his time; we cruised close to 2 hours and he never rushed me giving me lots of time to take photos. he took me out about 5 miles into the slough, driving me to see the sea lions basking in the sun on the backs of boats and docks. he took me pretty much wherever i wanted -- to see the various flocks of sea birds (he's quite knowledgeable), towards any of the otters and seals we'd spot in the distance. i had a wonderful experience and got to see everything i had hoped to see and i enjoyed my conversations with sean very much. he's a very nice guy and i so appreciated his time showing me the slough and he was very informative as well -- it's clear he loves what he does.

This isn't a cattle boat with 25 people!! It is an electric boat that takes six passengers max on a great tour of Elkhorn Slough and the harbor at Moss Landing. We went on a Sunday mid-day tour and saw lots and lots of otters with their babies, birds of all sorts. This is a good boat for photography, virtually no vibration, quiet and you are much lower to the water than the pontoon boat. Our captain knows the slough and the otters and birds well and was happy to stop if we wanted to look at something a while longer. He also recommended Haute Enchillada when we asked for a good place to eat and nailed it on that one too! This is worth every nickel - highly recommended.

We come up to Carmel, annually, to celebrate Christmas. Part of our celebration includes a visit to Moss Landing to eat at the Haute Enchilada and to view wildlife at the slough. We had heard about Whisper Charters, and decided to give them a try. We are so glad we did.

Nice covered, quiet boat, hot and cold beverages, and even some nice cookies. They have binoculars available and many resources for identifying birds and sea life. The highlight was our captain who knows the area and the habits of the wildlife, and all the otters (babies and mothers), sea lions and seals, and birds. Two hours was spent immersed in nature with nice people and a great captain. What a great trip! We are looking forward to our next one!
