Description: An incomparably fun and intriguing place to dine, the Coliseum Pool & Grill overlooks the "scene" at the strikingly iconic Coliseum Pool, back-dropped by the Pacific Ocean. American favorites on the superbly prepared menu runs the gamut from pizzas, panini and sandwiches to seafood dishes, pastas, specialty salads and even smoothies.

I am sure the Coliseum is a great place for any meal, but I can tell you it
is a wonderful way to start a day for breakfast.

Perched high in Newport Beach the view of the ocean is beautiful. The view
of the Pelican Hill Resort pool is equally as beautiful and calming. It is
like an Italian oasis.

There is a breakfast buffet consisting of such treats as made to order
omelets, oatmeal, fried potatoes, breakfast meats, fresh fruit and more but
equally as good, is the menu with breakfast favorites like eggs, and
pancakes. However I would recommend the Lobster Scrabble, the Country Corned
Beef Hash, or the Pecan, Raisin French Toast. (They also had Cheese
Blintzes- one of my favorites)

The service was also wonderful !

The Coliseum Grill is part of the "pool dining" for the Pelican Hill Resort but don't let that stop you if you are not a guest of the resort. I also read some of the other reviews and it is pricy BUT you are at the Pelican Hill Resort. You pay for where you are so you shouldn't be surprised.

I would high recommend the Coliseum at The Pelican Hill Resort.

Food was pricey- $13 for a hot dog and mediocre- everything was fussy but on the bland side. I understand this but would suggest having optional sauces. Service was really terrible. I had to wait so long- they even got the order wrong- I had a sunburn

I went for lunch, limited menu but offer great service and view. Actually all the place in Newport Beach near the sea would probably offer the same view.

Very good restaurant to enjoy the blue, sparkling pool, impeccable golf course and stellar ocean views while enjoying very good food and service. The staff is friendly, professional and well trained. (Ask for Linda.) At night or on chilly days, the hosts offer aqua-colored fluffy lap blankets to keep the chill at bay on the patio (if Sanjiv doesn't offer, be sure to ask for a blanket for each guest in your party). If possible, make reservations to enjoy the sunset and request a table on the patio edge overlooking the large heated pool. The food selections, quality and presentations are very nice. The patio is large so you won't be forced to listen to every word from the guests around you. Reasonably priced for the resort. Valet parking is often full, so valet at the front desk area and stroll down to the Coliseum Grill.
**** NOTE TO BAR MANAGEMENT:Please offer Plymouth Gin

This restaurant located overlooking the giant pool and the ocean at the Resort at Pelican Hill offers up tasty fare. We had lunch and it was delicious. Don't miss the Tortilla Soup. Wow! It's probably a bit pricey, but that goes with the location.
