I have held back from this review (because after the first disaster they gave me $75 in vouchers) until I came back and gave them a second chance.

First visit ordered 3 burgers and 2 of the 3 went back 3 times, first time because wrong burger, second time because cooked opposite of ordered and 3rd time because it was delivered almost raw.

Manager was embarrassed and comped meal and gave us a return visit voucher.

On my anniversary dinner tonight 2 items went back to kitchen, one was cold (I had seen it wrongly delivered to neighbors table 10 mins prior) and one was burnt.

Big picture for a very expensive meal at what’s supposed to be a high quality place, we have decided to never waste the money again and steer clear of this place.

Service is actually great but the kitchen is in a massive hole that o don’t think they can dig their way out of it.

Wonderful dinner with great people. Special! Our friend picked this restaurant, he made no mistake. Wonderful caring service. Very attentive from the moment you arrive til the moment you leave. The family style side dishes are perfect for trying a variety of veggies with main course. Chilean sea bass was extremely delicious, I liked the mandarin oranges with it. Would definitely make this one of my regulars if I lived here.

This is a very expensive restaurant. It is very classy. We had planned to have a very special celebration for our 50th. Our reservations were called in way in advance so we believed all would be well. We requested a special dinner for two which we were assured we would receive. When we arrived, they had set up a very small table for two right in the middle of the restaurant on a corner where every waiter traveled back and forth to bring food to the tables. It was a very tiny table and we were in constant awareness of the food flying by our heads all night long. It was a very uncomfortable place to be eating. We ordered our special meal, and were told they would not be able to serve it. They informed us it had never been ordered for us. We both love Beef Wellington and it now has to be ordered ahead of time which is what we had done a month before. It was a great disappointment to us. We did not want to spoil our special night together so we did order filet Mignon tenderloin for each of us. The waiter brought our food to us and they had only cooked one steak for us to share. It would have taken another 30 minutes before we would have been able to eat so we just split the one dinner for the two of us. By now we were not very pleased with the service and just wanted to enjoy our meal and leave. For our Anniversary dessert they brought over warm flat champagne in two flutes and a box with six truffles. Overall, it was a very disappointing evening. It is a very expensive restaurant and we chose it to celebrate our 50th. We will never return and we would not recommend it to anyone who wants to have a special celebration. The restaurant was absolutely packed with people and we arrived early at 6:00pm. It felt like chaos and was completely unorganized.

For about the past month or two, Flemings has been open for lunch. I have now gone on three or four separate occasions. Each time my meal, and that of my guest, was excellent, and the price is most reasonable. I would definitely recommend the Filet with the wedge salad. The meat is top of the line--tender and tasty--and the salad is a delight. And I think the price is $18. You will be most pleased.

Not that long ago Flemings in Newport was the local spot -the place to be - dark , clubby, noisy ,busy and what you envision a classic steak house would be- when you walked in the place smelled like red wine and red meat and a hint of a rouge cigar from a distant private party room .The bar was always the best seat in the house - people would line up 30 minutes before opening on popular nights just to snag a coveted seat at the bar - for good reason - gracious, sharply dressed professional bar tenders who poured a stiff dink and a generous glass of good house wine . there was an exceptional happy hour menu with some of the old time favorites at very reasonable prices all served with crispy complimentary house made chips - the people watching and the snippets of overheard conversations was priceless - sounds too good to be true? - well .. it was ! in true Newport Beach style they recently remodeled - upgraded to lighter and brighter - more modern fixtures, furniture and the predictable expanded patio with the required gas and glass fire pit - gone now is the dark clubby and crowded bar and noisy hustle and bustle of waiters delivering sizzling steaks and of course so is the happy hour special menu and people watching - now with plenty of room for everyone it feels empty - no more lines to get in - no coveted seats no overheard conversations, the bartenders are friendly but more casual - no crisp chips and carefully measured drinks - bummer - with all that sour grapes said - it still is a Flemings with great food and service - but the flame is out ... it no longer looks or smells like the traditional steakhouse it was - now it smells more like an Ikea and looks like it belongs in the Irvine Spectrum
