From the very beginning to the very end of our experience, the word that kept coming up was "excellent." The service was excellent and exemplary. The drinks were excellent and generous. The food was beyond excellent. The sampler fish kabobs got us off to a great beginning. We followed that with what had been billed as "the best clam chowder in Orange County." Why the limit? We all agreed that it was one of the best ever. When our entrees came, we could not resist sharing. The Ono with ginger sauce was terrific, the preparation excellent. There's that word again. The swordfish was amazing with the sauce elevating the flavor to a new level. The Mahi could not have been fresher. By the time we got to desert we couldn't pass it up but one chocolate, ice cream, and sauce confection was plenty for the four of us. If you can only eat at one place in Newport it really should be here.

We came on a busy Thursday night without reservations. We were seated an hour later. Once seated we were quickly greeted by server and drink orders were taken. The food was great! We shared some appetizers - garlic bread, cab cakes and fish skewers. All were very good.
We ordered the chefs special halibut, pasta, Ono. All were very good. Try to get table on the patio.

Watching the clientele, taking in the view, drinking the wine, eating the amazing seafood (swordfish!). Even though it was super busy, our waiter (Diego) was just the right level of attentive, even with our three young children.

Great food. Pricy but worth the experience. Reservations a must for dinner especially on weekends. Lunch time can be good without reservation if on "off" day of week, say Tuesday. Fish selections are very good as well as drinks.

We had a reservation and still ended up waiting almost an hour with 5 hungry kids. It made for a long night of hangry kids that normally would have been pleasant. It would have been nice to have received a discount or free desert or bread. There was no parking as the valet and lot were full. Not sure I would go back here.
