I literally gasped when I walked into my hotel room at The Island Hotel - it was truly enormous. (Note - my usual point of reference is inner city hotels!) I can see that the decor is a little dated, but it didn't really matter to me. The room was pristine, and the bed was so comfortable. The communal areas are also enormous and well maintained.
As for location, other than retail shops there's not much else around there. But who needs anything else when you have four department stores!
