This hotel has the look and feel of The Embassy Suites, not really any Hyatt property we have stayed at prior.
Great location, close to all of Downtown Palm Springs and he attractions we wanted to visit ok our stay. Our room was spacious enough for our family of 4. Room was clean. A little musty smelling, and was kind of loud from the music in the lobby and bars outside. We stayed for one night, simple, no frills... and had what we needed during our visit.

Stayed: January 2017

Thanks for taking the time to provide your review comments. We greatly appreciate it. We are pleased that in general your stay was a good one, but will definitely follow up with housekeeping to insure that we are paying closer attention to the room smelling fresh and clean.

Thanks again, and we hope to see you again.

Sincerely,

My wife and I stayed at this property this past weekend, both as a mini-vacation and to scout out a location for a family event later this year. The pluses were a central location in the heart of Palm Springs and suite-type accommodations. Our suite was a good size, with a separate sitting area and bedroom. The negatives were furnishings that were a bit on the dated side, a bed that I found to be among the more uncomfortable ones I have slept in (why do some hotels insist on putting tiny pillows on a king bed?), and service that was decidedly on the mixed size (some front desk staff were efficient at handling requests, and others seemed to forget about them). This was my first visit to a Hyatt property in a very long time, and frankly the experience did not come up to the expectations I had. If our family comes back later this year, I hope this experience was just an outlier.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review; it is much appreciated. Relative to your stay you will be pleased to know that we do have improvements planned for later this year to the hotel. These include upgrades to the guest suite, bathrooms, lobby, and the outdoor bar and entrance. On the service side we will address responsiveness with our front desk team so that we can improve delivery in the future.

Thanks again for the review and we do hope to see you again.

We arrived to the hotel and were greeted by the friendly guys at the valet and they helped us get our things loaded and on the cart. We did arrive early so our room wasn't ready so they stored our things for us. They told us it would be about 2 hours and they would call us. Once the 2 hours passed I had my husband call and sure enough the room was ready.

Allen helped bring our things to our room and he was very friendly and helpful. He even went out of his way to get us a bucket of ice - which I have never had offered when checking into the room - so kudos Allen!

The room setup was backwards - it's split into two rooms with a door in the middle to separate the living room from the bedroom (we had 2 doubles). So when you entered our room you were in bedroom instead of the living room (my sister's room was the opposite of mine- which I preferred).

We had our thermostat set for 64.5 degrees while we were out to dinner and when we got back about 5 hours later it was so hot in the front area - the living room area was nice and cool. I did call down to the front desk before we left that night to see if we could get another room but they said they were booked because of the Film festivities that were going on. This was a bummer...wish I had Allen again!

So I ended up sleeping in the living room on the couch with the air on since it was too hot in the bedroom area. We did try opening the sliding door to help let out some of the hot air and that was ok while we had some family in our room visiting - but soon after they all left it was problem with the outside street noise (we we directly above the entrance to the hotel facing the Tonga Hut). I will say that once the sliding door was closed you could barely hear anything from outside.

We had taken the complimentary shuttle a few times to events that were being held locally and that was convenient. We even had Allen one night as our driver (which was a nice surprise!). We had also eaten downstairs in the restaurant. The Sunday Bruch was very good. It was $20.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids. They had an omelet station, then the usual scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bagels, toast, etc. And they had a nice selection of fresh fruit. So if you can't or don't want to get out early to one of the local breakfast spots I recommend their brunch.

I did have to ask our cleaning lady to see about re-cleaning our tub (it had a gray ring around it - like someone took a bath and it wasn't cleaned). She was very apologetic and whi we were out she cleaned it for us.

So once we checked out we did have a to have our bill corrected and credited since it wasn't the right amount that I was quoted.

This was our first time ever visiting Palm Springs and if we ever come back I wouldn't stay at the Hyatt again - I just don't think that it was worth the money, hassle and air conditioning throughout the ENTIRE room is essential in that climate (thankfully it rained so it could have been worse!) and I regret not using our timeshare @Wyndham.

Room Tip: Pricey - so make sure your air conditioner fully works!

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We always appreciate the feed back from our customers. Generally speaking we are glad that you enjoyed most of your stay, and especially Allen, who is one of our "Rock Stars". It is most disappointing to hear about your AC situation and our inability to correct it. We will follow up with the engineering team to review how we can better address this sort of thing in the future.

Thanks again for the review, and for staying with us.

This may have been a really cool hotel many years ago, but now it is just pretty dated.

That doesn't mean it's bad, but it's showing it's age.

The upside, is that nearly all rooms have a good view of either the mountains or the city.

It is in a great location, and the staff are friendly. They even have a handful of bikes that you can borrow to ride around.

There is parking on the side of the hotel, and behind it. Just pay attention to the signs to make sure you are parking in a place you are allowed to park. We did not find free parking difficult.
