“A Desert Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

A beautiful property. Lush gardens with orange trees and a beautiful free form pool. The lobby and public areas are modern and hip.

Our room was luxurious, hip and edgy. Bright colors and leather furniture. The bathroom was fantastic with a huge, free standing soaking tub, 2 sinks and a walk in shower. It also had nice bath products and thick, soft towels.

All the staff I encountered at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The only negative I noticed were the room service dishes the were left in the hallways.

I would certainly stay there again.

First of all I want to say that this hotel and their staff were fantastic - our weekend started out very badly at another hotel who overbooked and we were sent to this hotel - they were great they really took the time to get us a nice room and make us comfortable in everyway. Every staff member from valet to front desk and main bar were very friendly and helpful. we had a great time here and would stay here again anytime. The property is huge with several pools and fire pits and the rooms were large and very nice - the beds were very comfortable.
Thank you Riviera

In many ways this is a lovely hotel. The public areas - lobby, lounges, bar, restaurant are all stylish and furnished in sleek retro contemporary style. The pool area too is beautiful. It all looks wonderful but things soon started to unravel.

We spent the first couple of hours phoning down for things that should have been in our room - towels, robes, coffee cups. The service in the restaurant was also decidedly flakey from time to time. Perhaps worst of all, the promised trolley service between the hotel and downtown was not running even though it is meant to be included in the $28 daily resort fee. The taxi downtown costs about $10 each way.

I suppose we did enjoy staying here but on reflection felt a little let down. If I am in town again, I think I shall choose one of the many hotel options downtown

Room Tip: We paid extra for a pool view room which overlooked a small pool a good trek from reception - not re...

The Riviera is a terrific find in Palm Springs and a great value for the (reasonable) price. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and extremely clean. We were also pleased at how quiet our room was. The property itself is beautifully laid out and landscaped, with two lovely pools, one of which has a lively bar scene (with music in the evenings), the other of which is very tranquil. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the hotel, but about the area. And the location can't be beat--we loved being so close to the Uptown District and all its shops and restaurants. Of all the places I've stayed in Palm Springs, this was my favorite--and I would definitely return.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, just ask. We did--and were very pleased with the room we got.

We stayed during the President day week end. The hotel lobby and the other common areas are very nice but our room was dusty and not clean . As you can see from my pictures the hotel need to improve the houskeeping service. We book a junior suite for almost 500$ per nigh but this is not the real value of the room ( look at the view we had from our room....)

We were at this hotel in the latter part of January, 2012 for a girl's trip. What a beautiful hotel - large beautiful room, loved the fire pits by the main pool, great drinks and ambiance in the hotel bar/lobby. The beds were very comfy as well. However, hide your trail mix - it apparently will attract ants in the room. Our room faced the smaller pool which was lovely, but closed while we were there. Staff was very friendly, and when one individual did not get served by the pool, the whole party received a free round of drinks in the bar that night. I would stay again, but will double bag my trail mix!

Room Tip: Stay away from the main pool if you are an early to bed, early to rise individual.

Thank you for selecting our resort for your girl's trip. It is great to know it was a success. I apologize that your trail mix attracted ants. We do have a pest control company that treats the resort often. Please include us in your future travel plans or celebrations as we would love to have you and your group back!

The hotel is beautiful! the lobby took my breath away. The parking was very easy and our room was the best. We were right in front of the smaller pool. one bummer was that the pool was not heated at all. it was ice cold! and when we called to ask if it could be heated the women at the front desk laughed! I know its off season, but still. The pool was so cold you couldnt even put your feet in. We did however enjoyed the main pool. Michael really took care of us. He went above and beyond and we couldnt have thank him enough. he made our stay. one thing though, change the music at the pool. its awful! too much to relax. Oh and the pool table was amazing!
