The exterior of the hotel upon checking in looks great, the grounds which include the lobby, pool table area, restaurant and bar all look great. My issue was the room itself, it could use some upgrades or renos. The rooms and hallways have an old dated smell to it. Also, unless you're in building #1, finding the building that your room is located in is a little tricky since it's not all completely connected. Other than that, it's a decent property, good for an overnight stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close in building #1 - 3, closer to the main pool.

I liked the vibe at the pool and the overall look and feel of the hotel but that isn't enough unfortunately. As others have indicated, the hotel is understaffed and under-managed. Check in had a long line with only 2 agents during prime time at 3pm and it was an ordeal as we could not get keys for our whole stay as we had added a day to our stay prior to landing.

It really is the little things: one pool had no service, one day there were no towels until 2pm. Water was not replaced for hours after it was empty despite notifying staff. The pool had to close one afternoon so there was no bar for the entire hotel for hours.

All of the above could be addressed with diligent management and delegation... the "no questions asked" model a true five star hotel employs.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floors... could hear everything above.

Hi DixieGT-
Thank you kindly for sharing your feedback! We also agree that the overall vibe of the hotel is not enough contentment if the service is not consistent or a missing factor. We’re truly sorry that you experienced inconsistencies during your stay and that our reception area was not effortless. We’ve already addressed your concerns with both the front office and our food and beverage team, and we look forward to providing you a much more seamless experience next time you’re in the area.
Please give us a call when you’re planning your next excursion to our lovely desert, and we’ll ensure that your needs are met this time around!

We had been to the Riviera for drinks on a previous trip. I loved it! Cool Sinatra/Dean Martin/Rat Pack vibe -- lighting was glamorous, live music. I highly recommend. Next trip we booked rooms, with others. We did not have to wait for our room until 4:30 as our friends did, but I think we got the worst room in the place. Some rooms have views of the pool or grounds; our friend got a parking lot view. We had a view of the kitchen dumpster. I decided to sit on the patio anyway, as it was Palm Springs weather, no matter the view. Turns out the kitchen dumpster view included the smoking area for the kitchen crew.
Therefore, I would only recommend if you can book a interior view room. Nonetheless, try it for drinks.

Room Tip: Insist on an interior view

Hello Karen K-
Thank you very much for returning and for writing a review about your recent visit! We’re glad you’ve enjoyed our pool scene, our expansive selection of craft cocktails and beers, and our Entertainment during your visits. On the other hand, we’re sad to hear that your guestroom view did not leave much to desire; and while it is true that some rooms face away from the pool and gardens we always try our best to meet our guests requests. When returning to Palm Springs, please mention this to us and we’ll be happy to upgrade your room based on our availability. We look forward to creating more memories with you while soaking in the sun!

4 night stay, Tues-Fri. Check-in very efficient and pleasant. Decor funky, a cool hipster dream. A few room deficiencies which demonstrate some aging infrastructure. Moved us w/out blinking and profusely apologetic. Housekeeping was very nice but seem short staffed? Lower occupancy period staff reduction? Some basics missing requiring house keeping call. Single towel, broken landline, short in a socket, fridge iffy. Main pool heater and main complex spa offline. Room refresh's missed waste bins no recycling program when the city has a robust program. N pools perfect.
I want this hotel to succeed, great locale and central. Good bicycle program for getting about downtown!

My girlfriends and I went for Memorial Day weekend, and it was not for us 40 year olds.. staff was great, tried to accommodate us as much as possible, but this hotel is big as was filled with 20 year olds.. Rooms upon first look are cute.. but bathroom is tiny.. we had no clean towels for 2 days, as they told us they were out due to hotel being busy. AC barely worked, we had maintenance there several times. Pool was nice as we were not at main pool. Drinks great. I would have enjoyed more if I was 20 years younger!! We moved our last night to the Ritz..

Hello Leslee S-
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us! We’re happy you found our staff’s service to be welcoming and enjoyed lounging at our Chiki Pool, but we’re very sorry for the AC challenges and the shortage of towels. It was a very busy weekend, but that does not make it any more right. Now, we’re better prepared for a busy turn; and we hope you will come back perhaps during a time where the Resort is less active so you may truly experience our oasis. Please keep us in mind during your next travels to Palm Springs, and we’ll make sure your stay meets more relaxation!
