We ordered garlic noodles, roti prata, green vegetable curry, Mee Goreng and gado gado--a pretty good variety. The food is tasty, not great.
But my review title is the result of the numerous negatives of this place...so many that you can't even begin to enjoy your food and the feeling of dissatisfaction when you are done.
First, this is a restaurant, not a rave, it's a place that serves food and drink. So why the overpowering rap/disco/thumping noise? No one is dancing. I could barely hear my dinner companion sitting right next to me. Forget about the other people at my table. It was miserable.
Second, bring your own flashlight. You can't see your menu in their lighting. The server even offered one to our table.
Third, the service was terrible.
Fourth, portions are small so order two of everything if you are dining family style. They charged $4 to substitute tofu for meat so ask first about the upcharge.
Finally, $13 for a mojito cocktail that consists of a small glass full to the brim with ice and some alcohol in it.
If you are looking for similar cuisine, try Shiok Kitchen in Menlo Park. It's small but the food, service and ambiance is fantastic.
