Mother's Kitchen is a the place for delicious food on the way to Palomar Observatory or while staying in this celeb hangout. After cuisine consumption here it was enough to impart feeling like a "child" again.

Vegetarian cuisine offers yummy on tap with signature dishes like pozole, chili and an Italian veggie wrap. Use apple square and it's an "apple" friendly place. After approximately three bites, staff comes to ask about your experience was.

Palomar Mountain is above the clouds" and historic black/white photos of Mother's (was a snack shack) are on the wall. Attentive staff truly created a memorable breakfast lunch and dinner experience while staying at Dr. Black's cabin. Returning upon invite only LOL.

Very pleasant restaurant. All vegetarian food - simple and prepared with attention. People were friendly. There's a pleasant garden to dine in if you want. The tap water was superb. A welcome surprise in a small mountain community. I would make it a point to eat here again when in the area. Not fancy, but good.

The food was good and the staff were friendly. This is our second visit. First visit we tried the home made soup and we knew we had to come back. Second visit, my wife had the bowl of soup with toast and I had the egg sandwich. The hours are a little odd, but the amount of traffic might explain this. We have got to go back.

If you are visiting the Observatory or Palomar Mountain this is a must stop ! For our surprise it was a vegetarian restaurant "NO meat at all " . Their plates have great flavors, we tried the "Pozole Soup" for me no meat on the pozole it's not allowed but it was great with good flavors. We also tried the Mountain Chili and was great ! Then we had a Club Sandwich that had layers of avocado, tomato, lettuce, jack cheese, "baco bits" & sprouts served on toasted seven grain bread w/ mayo also great! They have a cozy and warm indoor dining area and an outdoor area that looks great but was to cold to try it out. The food was served fast, with good customer service.

Cute little wooden lodge. Perfect if you are camping and you run out of firewood or forget your Hotdogs for the kids.
