Rose Bowl Events

The room was a little pricey. The hotel overall was a great experience. You need free coffee and breakfast buffet. I wish there were brochures with maps to events and information about shuttle service with times that shuttles run.

We chose this hotel because of the reviews. We were attending the Rose Bowl game and wanted a nice place to come to and eat and sleep after the game. A restaurant was advertised, so this place seemed perfect. We were one of the first people back from the game, and were told the restaurant was staying open late because of people coming back from the game. When we tried to find the restaurant, we were told there was no actual restaurant, but we could order food at the bar. Hardly anyone was there and only a few people sitting at the bar and a few watching the next playoff game in the lobby. We put in a food order, two hamburgers from a limited menu, and were told by the bartender it would be about 30 minutes. We checked with him after 30 minutes and were told the kitchen was overwhelmed. Meanwhile, more and more people were arriving form the Rose Bowl, and we were still waiting for our order. After over an hour, we watched the bartender getting food from somewhere, presumably the kitchen, and give it to other people. I told him we ordered long before any of those people arrived. He ran back to the kitchen and gave us one burger and said the other would be there shortly. Another half hour passed and the other burger arrived. It was almost 8:30 PM and there were people finished eating burgers at the bar that was emptied when we ordered. Other people were waiting as well and were told it was over an hour wait for food and everyone couldn't believe we had waited over an hour and a half for two burgers. In addition to all of this, the lobby was freezing! We all wore the coats and jackets we had on for the Rose Bowl game. A warm welcome, a drink and some food were all we wanted from this hotel. The parking situation was so complicated that leaving and trying to find a restaurant on New Year's Eve was not an option. The rooms were clean (no coffee included), but all we can remember is that awful night waiting and waiting in a cold lobby for something to eat after a very long day. I don't think a hotel should advertise a restaurant when there isn't actually a restaurant, but a kitchen and an overworked bartender. I have to admit that the guy that checked us in was the best thing at the hotel. He was kind and helpful. It was all downhill after that.

Room tip: Don't expect good service here and eat somewhere else!

I stayed here for 8 nights recently and had a very positive experience. Everyone from the front desk to the baristas were polite, friendly, and helpful. I got coffee and a muffin each morning, and they were served up with a smile and pleasant small talk. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature, with a beautiful view of the mountains. There are some shops and restaurants within walking distance. I walked to the nearby bookstore, coffee shop, pet supply store, Target, and pharmacy. My room was clean and everything was in working order. I will definitely be staying again on future trips to Pasadena.

This is a nice attractive well located hotel in a classic building. The problem is it has very limited services. No dining room (pretty much no breakfast ) no porterage, one hall bar, no bedroom servicing.

My friend and I had a great stay--we had a very big, clean, nice room to ourselves (a free upgrade from what we had booked due to some scheduling issues) and everyone who worked there was super nice and accommodating.

What a disappointment my stay was. When the hotel was DusitD2, I had a 6 day stay there for 4 consecutive years then COVID hit. Under new owners, this Oct. I have experienced a very disappointing stay. I booked a deluxe King room for 4 nights. The first night at about 10:00 the room presented cockroaches. When reported, soon thereafter I was located to a different room not a "deluxe" King room. In order to move, I had to repack all my belonging & had to "request" that someone be sent to my room to assist with the relocation. I am 76 so none of this was easy. So now at 11 pm. I had to unpack & arrange everything again. It was exhausting. There were no hooks on which to hang a bathrobe, etc. anywhere. In daytime, there was construction noise from this room. The vanity mirror had been broken off & disappeared, & there was no TV over the bathtub. Not that I needed one - I'm just pointing out one of the downgrades. I talked with the hotel manager the following morning. I was kind & understanding. Nothing was offered to kind of make up for all that I had experienced. I will write that ALL of the service staff were ever so nice & the pool area was lovely. I will declare that I will never stay there again & I will make sure that my friends are warned away from the Pasadena Hotel & pool.

Room tip: For $1900 for 4 nights stay it was a very unsatisfactory stay complete with cockroaches, a change to a downgraded in room. Disappointed!
