Owner description: In 1973, Gary Eberle began his career in the wine industry by heading his family's Estrella River Winery (currently 360 Degrees in Paso Robles) and produced 500,000 cases a year at its facility. Eberle's pioneering spirit didn't stop there. In 1980, he co-founded the Paso Robles Appellation and in 1983, Gary opened the doors to his own Eberle Winery with the premiere of Eberle's 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Eberle handcrafts 25,000 cases of wine each year from surrounding Estate vineyards. And, after more than 33 years since the release of the Eberle label, the winery consistently remains one of the highest award-winning wineries in the United States. The German name "Eberle" translates to "small boar." At Eberle Winery, a bronze boar greets every guest who visits the Tasting Room. The statue is the 93rd replica of the original bronze Porcellino cast by Tacca in 1620. And today, the original can be found in the straw market in Florence, Italy. It is considered good luck to rub the boar's nose and toss a coin in the water below. Guest enjoy complimentary wine tasting and cave tours daily. Reservations for VIP Tour & Tasting, groups of 8 or more guests or reserve tastings please contact in advance.

What a great winery! The people were so friendly, and we actually ran into some people from North Dakota! They lived only
40 miles from us! We had a good visit! The winery has a great tour of the cave as well as a comfortable tasting room. They also have two great winery dogs, always an added joy to us dog lovers!

“Amazing caves, incredible wine, and a wonderful tour guide”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2012

Went to Eberle as a final stop on our Paso wine trip, and it easily became a favorite. The VIP cave tour is a must....it enables you to really appreciate the wines as you spend two hours privately tasting Eberle's huge selection. Our "wine guide" was Wade and he was not only very knowledgable about each bottle, but also showed a passion for the wine that made us happy to simply partake. He was very patient with all of our questions, and made what could have been a standard vineyard tour a bona fide educational experience.

As for the wines, Eberle stands out as one of the few Paso wineries that produces an incredible array of wines. In addition to the classic Paso Rhone varietals, they also had Italian and Portuguese grapes in both blends and single varietal bottles; regardless of the type, every wine was fantastic. The reserve cab is my personal favorite.

I always enjoy tasting their award-winning wine, but it's the hospitality that I especially appreciate. Their caves are not to be missed.

“Great Place to Tour and Taste”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2011

This winery is a great place for the tourist or the local. They offer free wine tastings which is seldom heard of these days. However to top that off they offer free tours of the wine caves. They will give you the tour of the crushing pad, stainless steel tanks and then take you down to where the wine is put in casks and cellared. The cave dinning room amongst row upon row of wine barrel is explored. I love to take people here.
