Now that Paso Robles has been discovered by wine lovers, it is getting more difficult to find affordable and flavorful food. We found Nuevo Mexico (next door to Paso Robles Inn) and decided to check it out. Staff is friendly and service is quick and attentive. Menu is very large! Every possible combination of tacos, burritos, tamales, as well as salads, are offered. There are even great daily specials and a large number of $5 lunch specials. The chips are nothing special but the salsa is great and fresh. The food is tasty and they don't skimp on the meat in the tacos or burritos and it is very good quality. Great chile verde/green sauce. You know there are great chefs in the kitchen when the rice and beans are a meal in themselves. If you love quality and value, you have to check this place out.

Started with guacamole - watery like it was poured from bottle. Burrito tasted like half a box of salt on it, taco unidentifiable, enchilada contained mystery meat with no flavor. I give the place a short future.

The food was fine ... the atmosphere interesting. The service was odd. Not a restaurnat that jumps at me when I think of places to eat. Clearly a fine dining restaurant ... mayeb a 'wanna be' fine dining restaurant.

Our meal was very, very tasty. From the appetizers, to the main courses, to desert, it was all very good. It wasn't the best of my life or even the best this year, but it's probably the best in a month or so....

The bad experience we had a year ago. made up for the service and food we received last night. From making a reservation to the dessert, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect!!! The servers were very pleasant. This is a place where you do not rush to enjoy a meal, and really give you a chance to savor every taste. The price was worth every penny. I recommend that you give it another try..
