This is my second visit to Billy Boy's Café, which is on the Pearblossom Highway in...Pearblossom. It looks a little unassuming from the outside but it's a good place to stop for a refresher. Lunch is cheap but wholesome, with standard café fare - omelette, hash browns, steak sandwiches and so on. Note that there is no licence for alcohol here, so you can't have a beer with your food. The cooking is by no means fancy but it is solid and dependable, which is why it attracts a clientele of local farmers and NASCAR fans. The service is pleasant enough and I had free refills of my iced tea. Worth a look if you're passing through town, and it's about halfway between Joshua Tree and Santa Barbara County if you're heading that way.
